Dipping a Toe into Flying the Tubeliners

Postby Charl » Mon Aug 18, 2025 3:02 pm

As the title suggests.
I have tried to get Pushback Pro to show ground Service Vehicles, to no avail.
The Interwebs informs me that there may be a scenery addon which blitzes all GSV.
Amazing.
But Flightbeam's Wellie is a nice scenery, I took a screenshot why not.

Then I moved the AI slider one notch over, and was reminded why i don't generally have much AI in my sim.

The A320 is quite easy to fly however.
Presently actually sidetracked with an Alaskan adventure - I may come back to sort something out.
It's the way of flightsimming, trades on Attention Deficit :)

One day I will have a stab at airliner flying but currently don't have time to put much effort into it....lol Lufthansa have invaded Christchurch....you should try FTSL ai traffic.

You told me this before, and I believe it is good advice.
I ignored it then, and for good reason: if you go for the proper AI setup, then you must also visit ALL those airports where they appear!
This involves a great deal of time (and money) and I'm doing this just for the fun of it.

My FS9 install was a never to be repeated juggernaut of over 100 major airports...

I don't mean make another GNZLAP. (was that what it is was called?), which something I really miss by the way, but download the free ai traffic app

https://fslivetrafficliveries.com/

It only does airliners but at least you get the right ones in the right places

The Boeing 737-700 (PMDG) is the only modern airliner I still fly. My hangar used to be full of others, but they just don’t excite me anymore.
I’ve drifted away from most German forums too — they’ve all been taken over by the endless wave of (Air)bus drivers.
These days I stick to one good VFR forum instead.
Everywhere you look it’s Airbus this, Airbus that… ah well, let them have their fun.
I’m happier with aircraft like the Piaggio Avanti, the Cessna Citation 3+, the Cirrus Vision Jet, or now and then a military trainer — and at the moment the lovely NAMC YS-11.
That’s the great thing about MSFS — everyone can fly in their own way, Airbus or otherwise.

I don’t use GSX, and when I’m on long-haul or regional flights around the world, I don’t see much traffic either — even with Just Flight’s Traffic. Baku (UBBB) was rather quiet, and in China you shouldn’t expect miracles unless you do some work yourself.
The upcoming Boeing 757-200 might change my airliner habits again — provided the developers focus on flying rather than button pushing.

Thanks for the tip re FSLTL Naki, hadn't come across that, looks promising.

Am currently using the AIG AI Manager in P3D which has been great last few years.
