AFS2 South Island

Postby emfrat » Thu Sep 16, 2021 11:48 am

IPACS Community dev GeoffKiwi has released his photo scenery for NZ SI, including Rakiura. It sits well in his South Island mesh. I took a trip around some new places, and all the known trouble spots, and it looks very good indeed especially the Alps. It all came to a remarkable end, but I walked away and I'm sure they can still use the SM-211, so all is well

'Propliner' is actually short for 'Proper airliner, with big rumbly radials'

These are great... I see I have not opened a flightsim for months.
I blame this on Mr. Splitpin who entertains on these pages with Other Matter :D
But I will fight back, I still have AFS2 somewhere.
Thanks for the post, Mike.
Is there coffee to be had at Takaka?

Once I get some buildings to show up, yes. There will also be heli flights available, to see whales, or catch one for lunch if you feel so inclined :D

There is now mesh and photoscenery for both islands, available free at https://flight-sim.org/filebase/index.php?filebase/133 , also some cultivation with more on the way.
At https://www.fscloudport.com/fsc?openvie ... country=nz there are 49 free airfields , many with buildings etc, and it is very easy to disable the runway object if you prefer to land 'on the photo'.

All this thanks to IPACS forum members GeoffKiwi, Michael (IZ0JUB) and perokee, and the FS Cloudport members as well

Never fear, Charl - this should bring Marty back into the fold. It was released today

Woo.
One of 3 Favourite warplanes for me.
Marty can tell us: for someone steadfastly grounded in MSFS, how much of a transition is it to DCS?
