Marty, I'm not sure yet if there'll be any new Prepar3d scenery coming, at the moment I've actually quit my v4 and v5 subscriptions, the plan being to buy access just in the months that I am working on P3D projects, as current sales don't justify the subs. I really don't know whether there will ever be a P3D market again, at the moment I'm not hopeful. Not that it's all about the money, but I need to sort that out first before anything else.
With such nice freeware stuff coming out, it will be hard to know where payware fits in. I think I can make better custom scenery than the freeware folk, but what they do may suit 90% of simmers, so it'll become a very different market.
Lately I've been dabbling in the sharemarket, and it's interesting to see how easy it is to 'spook' the market. My scenery sales are pretty much the same, any change will spook potential customers. This was very apparent when MSFS was first announced, and on release my sales dropped by 90%. Even the recent release of the freeware Rotorua had a further effect, as people suddenly realise that if they are patient enough they'll get a steady stream of free NZ releases. This would be great if it continues, except that I may as well retire. At the moment I'm counting down to my pension -- 218 days to go:)
