I don't think there's anything which covers all the Sounds, but Real NZ Marlborough has partial coverage. This is in the Avsim library.

Toprob,

Thanks for great tip. I think it might meet my needs as it does cover what I see in the New Zealand tv show called The Sounds. Hope this link also includes the airport sceneries for the Sounds area.

The ORBX NZSI addon represents the area pretty well in FSX, especially with the updated terrain mesh.

Most of the Sounds are just covered in native bush and forestry, so you're not missing out on much without the photoreal. Here's a phone snap the other day going over the top of the area:

Ardypilot,

Thanks for your beautiful screenshot. This is exactly what I want in my FSX because your screenshot is exactly same what I saw in the New Zealand tv show called The Sounds.

I cannot find NZSI scenery in Orbx list of sceneries for Oceania area????? Is this for FSX?

Okay I will check out FSX default ground texture of The Sounds with hopes it will be as good as your amazing screenshot.

Once again, thanks for your answer. All I want is to recreate what I saw in the amazing tv show.

Yes, see here: https://orbxdirect.com/product/nzsi

This preview below from NZSI product page shows the sounds in FSX/P3D where as my shot was real world.

Andypilot,

Ahhh you mean New Zealand South Island base package. I thought you mean airport code NZSI which was why I could not find in list of Orbx airports.

Thanks for the preview screenshot of Orbx showing the Sounds. Orbx is showing wrong color for waters that do NOT match your photo or the tv show The Sounds. Godzone has Nelson airport scenery that includes more realistic looking color for waters.

Maybe I should ask Toprob for tip on how to export realistic looking waters from Nelson scenery to the waters of The Sounds!!!

Speaking of Toprob and Godzone, I am pleased to report that his amazing freeware RealNZ Marlborough scenery does include amazing NZWB Woodbourne airport scenery!!!!! This is exactly what I want!!!! Now I have to take test flight to see his photoreal area of The Sounds and its water textures.

Shalom Aharon

What you're after is seen in Antdavison previous Scenery Topic posting from nearly five years ago in 2015 for FSX.
Recommend that you read his Topic posting complete & seamless NZ photoreal scenery

Specifically, for what your wanting to do, you'll need to obtain this which is a screen shot of The Sounds town Havelock and it's small sheltered inner deep sea fishing boat harbor. Looking up towards the Mahau Sound and the Pelorus Sound curving around left with the Linkwater flat linking towards the other Sounds side of Queen Charlotte Sound at top Right with Picton hidden from view.

Image

It's an 8.5gb zip file of central New Zealand photorealistic textures for FSX, lod13

extents are -39.375° north, -43.59375° south

For the small price of us$ 7 american dollars

Here's the direct link for obtaining nz2015--3-of-4--central.zip

To give you an idea of what it would look like of the Sounds area here's a 13 minute Ant's video with a rotating opening sequence of an Aerial drop down view of Queen Charlotte Sound pause the video at 10 seconds in, this displays the realistic looking color for waters of the sounds then un-pause to recommence with an over fly of the Sounds main township of Picton.

Then pause the video again at 28 seconds in to see the flyover shot of Picton Aerodrome (IATA: PCN, ICAO: NZPN) at Koromiko. This is the closest land based aerodrome/airport nearest to The Sounds. The TV Show "The Sounds" is a fictional TV show and the Airport seen in the TV show is fictional based, it does not exist in the area as the TV Show depicts the area of the Pelorus Sound and is fictionally set in the small inner Sounds town of Havelock, seen in the above screenshot at the bottom which is approx 40 km to the West of the main Sounds township of Picton.

Watch on youtube.com

The closest accurate representation of the real life Airport is that of NZPN Picton Aerodrome that is located beside the main state road highway in real life which is some 7.4 km; 4.6 miles South from the Sounds main township of Picton.

You can compare these Google screen shots to see the differences in water textures between the shallower sheltered lighter color of the inner tidal waters of the Pelorus Sounds and the much deeper and darker water color of Queen Charlotte Sound that open out to the Tasman Sea and Tory Channel leading out to the open tidal waters of Cook Strait.

Now if you wanting to see the longer 29 minute full version of the Aerial Road trip covering the entire Country in photorealistic textures for FSX then this is the video to watch as it's a representation of what is available with the entire set of nz2015 photorealistic textures for FSX that can be found directly here from Antdavison website.

Gulp!! Gulp!! I am hoping to avoid any 8.5 GB file!!!

That is great price for anyone!!!!

CORRECT!!!! This is exactly what I want along with realistic looking waters that you call in your own words: shallower sheltered lighter color of the inner tidal waters of the Pelorus Sounds. This is what is exactly in the tv show The Sounds and this specific water area is exactly where the heroine swam.

Yes yes that is my plan to look for FSX scenery for that NZPN airport in addition to the terrific Godzone NZWB Woodbourne airport scenery that I got as part of Marlbourough phototreal scenery to recreate flights for the tv show The Sounds.

Thank you so much for all amazing informations!!! You just read my mind about what I need for The Sounds scenery area for my FSX!!

The Real NZ Marlborough scenery includes NZPN. Looking at it now, it is very dated, which is a polite way to say that it is rubbish.

I beg to differ. NOTHING in all your freeware and payware sceneries is rubbish. Everything looks terrific and amazing. Even your Real NZ Marlborough scenery along with its NZWB Woodbourne although very old add on scenery looks TERRIFIC in my FSX and I even compare your NZWB Woodbourne scenery to youtube videos showing same but real life airport and everything matches well to my surprise!!!!

Thanks to your Real NZ Marlborough scenery, I can recreate flights what I see in the tv show The Sounds. I plan to take test flight around that area by flying from Wellington through Nelson through Sounds area to Woodbourne to see if it has same beautiful water realism as in the real life amazing water quality of the Pelorus Sound/Te Hoiere area. Also to see realism of town and port of Havelock.
