Hey
Right two little problems im trying to get to the bottom of
The first is more important than the second.

In some parts of my scenery (created by me- ive replaced both the terrain mesh and the aerial photo textures), the river sticks out of the scenery (see pic)....why? What controls the height of a river? how can i fix this? Ive also noticed that the lake levels arent quite correct? (not as bad as in FS2004 but the terrain data i have is more trustworthy than whatever FSX is using...)

The other problem is in default data- flying over Aucklands motorways, occasionally cars will appear as if driving vertically.....is this a known problem?

Hi Tim

#1) Get the FSX patch from my site (support.redbarent.com) and install my topo. Elevations in default FSX are hardcoded, hence the ugly effect.

#2) nice one. Haven't seen it before...

Cheers,
Christian

Can you explain that a bit more? Is that just for areas of water? Im guessing it must be since my terrain mesh includes the elevation of the water areas (including the lakes) interpolated from the LiDaR data.....

Yes, this is for water. Just as in FS9, water is fixed to elevations. Only, in FSX this also includes the rivers. MS used the SRTM data to get the elevations. That's why in Milford Sound the rivers are completely screwed up.

Ok- well ive put a request in for work to buy that data so hopefully that will fix it (in relation to my terrain mesh)
