I thought a NZ forum would be appropriate in which to ask this question.
I have downloaded FSX AI ship traffic for the Cook Strait and for Marlborough Sound (from flightsim.com). The ships are in the SimObjects\Boats folder, and the traffic files are in Scenery\World\Scenery. All my traffic files are FSX, or so ACA_2013 says when I try to convert any FS9 traffic files to FSX.
My issue is that ACA_2013 also says that my ships are missing, at least the traffic file cannot see them. I have VLC AI ship traffic, no problem there. I have tried to move the ships to the SimObjects\Airplanes folder, that didn't fix the problem.
Does anyone have an idea on what's going on here?
Thanks in advance -
Jorgen

fs9 ai ships need an afcad to follow, this where the you hit the hic-up, most fs9 afcads wont work in fsx
FSX ships follow a kml or kmz from a drawn route on Google earth, which is a completely different format to the old fs9 ai format
so in short dont bother about ai shipping from fs9 to convert to fsx
I tried back in 06 to convert all my fs9 shipping packages over to fsx, the guys at fsdeveloper and many other devs tried to have a go with no success

I have the VLC AI shipping, but thanks for the tip.
I didn't know that you can't really convert FS9 AI shipping traffic plans to FSX, but then again I have only started learning about AI. I guess the only thing I can use from Cook Strait and Marlborough Sound are the ships, and then create new flight plans for them with the Boat traffic compiler. I have that, now I just have to figure out how to use it.
Thanks for the help -

Sorry I can't do anything right now as I'm on the phone sitting on a ship
