Or did the ORBX NZSI.002 update seem to degrade the scenery? Last night, thanks to Toprob, Alister, and Ian, I managed to get ORBX NZSI installed an running very nicely. I was delighted with the look of everything and very happy with the quality and detail of the scenery. Tonight, I was browsing the ORBX site and noticed the NZSI.002 service pack update and dutifully installed it using the FTX Central application and making sure that the "Oceania" was selected and applied. But when I relaunched FSX and decided to take a hop in a Mosquito out of Queenstown I noticed that the detailed terminal, people, vehicles and hangars were missing.md replaced with what looked to be default objects. Checking other sites - Gore, Oamaru - found them to be reduced to blank, building-less airstrips, and one of my favourite fields, Mandeville, was gone altogether. I also noticed that the landclass and even the mesh looked appear to have returned to the default settings.

Anyone else encounter this?

Did you have FTX Central set to oceana before installing the patch? Ah sorry didn't see that you had done that.
Well let me see, After you installed the FTX Sth Island did you by chance install FTX Milford Airport before you applied service pack 2 ?
What other Sth Island scenery do you have installed.?
And if you have installed something since service pack 2 it may have upset the Orbix scenery library. It will do no harm at all to install the latest scenery library as it may just do the trick.

Found the problem, and answer, here in an earleier post from Dorian. Wish I'd read it first yesterday... N.

"Just a word to the wise, but the recent Orbx NZSI Service Pack 2 plays merry havoc with Mike's NZMO_NZMC_NZCI_NZMF freeware scenery pack (Orbx version).

It is fixable (with the exception of NZMF) but I had to:

- completely uninstall all Orbx scenery,
- re-install NZSI, then Service Pack 1 and the first and second Orbx Library,
- re-install Mike's scenery and activate it,
- copy and save the various original Orbx ADE/CVX/Objects.bgls (NZMO, NZMC, NZCI and NZMF) as well as the various Elevation adjustments found in Scenery/World/Scenery for future re-deployment
- re-install Service Pack 2 and the latest Library,
- turn off the new (offending) SP2 Orbx ADE/CVX/Objects/Elevation Adjustments bgls (renamed them .SP2Off)
- re-installed the original (saved) Orbx files

and it's working again.

Hope this saves anyone else from further angst."

I'm glad to see that you got fixed how you think it should be. Just note that you will always run into trouble with FTX Milford if you install it before service pack 2. You did not need service pack 1. Yes I can see that you can have problems with a mix and match approach. Happy simming

Yup, Q. I haven't gotten around to purchasing Milford or the NZNI pack yet for that matter, so I'm hoping I won't run into similar issues. From what I understand from reading other threads the service packs are cumulative, i.e. they incorporate previous SP's with each update. Wonder if the same holds true for the object libraries?

That is correct all service packs as far as I am aware have been accumlative. Also the scenary object libraries. If you install Orbx Milford or any older Orbx scenary it will come with an older version of the Object Library and overight your present one. Just go to the main orbx website freeterrain.com click on support and scroll down near the bottom of the page to the newest Object Library, download and install. As each new Orbx area or airport is released it comes with an updated library. That is your clue to have a check and see if the updated library by itself has been released. The update will contain more things relavent to the new software but also quietly adds a few fixes and further enhancements to the library as a whole. One Size fits all as they say.
