Trees on Runways

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Hey guys, I added a Trees package form Avsim (forget the name) but what it does is add more trees to FS9.

Looks pretty coool except when your trying to land at quite a few airstrips it looks like Mother nature has gone bonkers and the bush has closed in

Short of a chainsaw  has anyone else found this and figured how to get rid of these intruders?

Interesting, tried exclusion files?

Its going to be a major task as it seems that most of the Grass runway airstrips seem to be affected.

When you say exclusion files how to you add them to the Airstrips? I have a lot to learn about scenery making I can see. In my defense I am sure this problem was created by this tree file which I can not remember where its located,

there is a tool cal excbuilderV2 avilble at scenerydesign.org that is designed for removing autogen ie trees/buildings/airport stuff anything default in the scenery now when you get it you will also need fsconnect because excbuilder runs outside the fs window and needs location data from with in the sim to know what things and area you are wanting to remove stuff from so anyway its not that hard to workout just slew to the place that you are doing ,make sure you are facing 360 deg you can choise to take out one object or many in a area one object by direct over the top etc...anyway after you remove it creates a bgl exclued file that you can place within the scenery folders and no more tree or what ever in your way ..
hope this helps ,you will have alot of airports and grass strips  to visit

That would be my second choice if exclude builder doesnt work for you. :D

It's very easy to use, one tip that will make life easier, you need to make sure the aircraft, or whatever vechicle u use when in top down view to create the exclude area, is pointing directly North when you set up the top left and bottom right exclusion points (if you havnt used exclubuilder yet this wont make sense, it will once you see it). If the aircraft is pointing anywhere other than north, even a degree, the BGL file wont compile. Good luck.
