Are you using FS9 or FSX?

If the former, it's the de facto scenery addon (that is almost mandatory) for almost every pay/freeware scenery developed since its release.

Don't know how well it works in FSX as I don't fly that version of the sim.

Edit: the above is not a review, of course. Do a Google search for the AvSim review: RBE New Zealand 20m Mesh and Topo Scenery Combo by Lydell Stelmack, 2005. He gives it 4.5 Stars (his only Con is the price).

It was good for fs2004 and is a landclass addon which changes NZ from brown to green adding roads rivers telepoles lakes etc and most scenery design around the time was used and designed around the RBE lakes and rivers combo ,so yes its a must in FS9 and you would be happy at the effect on default platform
Try doing some searches on members scenerys and art work here on NZFF ,snowman or Charl which have many shots of RBE in NZ and are all built on this platform you are looking at .

im not sure its the best advice for you but for $50 you can buy FSX newest sim and then buy VLC landclass or the new ORBX NZSI which is almost what you are going to pay for RBE alone for older addon technology ,worth a thought if you have a PC that can run the newer simulator .

many will answer so hang in there for more reviews and suggestions before you go out forking out your pension which is quite the amount.

I have it and have dumpped it, since better stuff has since come along.

It was good for the time, but as you mention that was 2005. The major question is what sim are you using?

What he said: Absolutely Everything in FS9 NZ follows...
Then get this at AVSIM if you haven't already and go from there.

Google Earth Scenery Database for New Zealand
File Description:
This is a .kmz file showing most of the amazing FS9 sceneries available for NZ (75 or so). Just double-click on the file and they should show up in GE. Airports are categorised, so you can accurately filter by airport type. Download links are provided for each, as well as a link to a screenshot. Makes planning a flight a little easier, and perhaps more interesting, as you can often zoom down to street view in GE, and see what the airport looks like!
