Hamilton X

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby sundayflyer » Mon May 09, 2011 8:44 pm

I have today purchased and installed Hamilton X. It sure is an excellent piece of work by the author. However as I like to create AI from my own flight plans I seem to be having trouble with the supplied afcad. I can't get any aircraft to take off on the main runway 18 that have taxied over from the aero club side of the airport and any aircraft in the terminal taxing to use the main runway 36 like to taxi through the aero club grounds to get to it. I can open the afcad up in ADE and can see the problems that I need to fix. However when the afcad opens in ADE it also brings up the outline of the airport on a huge cement slab which when resaved appears on top of the scenery.
Does anybody know how to fix this? I don't have any other scenery design tools and have very limited experience and knowledge on this subject. Alternatively does anybody have a corrected updated afcad for Hamilton X.
Cheers,
Daryl

Thanks for that I will try and delete the cement slab...... And thanks for the prompt reply. The aircraft parked over on the western side of the runway with the current afcad can never takeoff using the main runway 18. They just taxi down to the end and sit there. I think there is a short node missing in the taxi link just before they enter the main runway.

This happens when there is no hold short node connected to the taxi link path or isn't close enough to the runway.

All connections to the runway must also have hold short nodes otherwise ai will just spit there waiting smile.gif

Yep that was the problem missing hold short node. The afcad for ai is now working and the ai taxi and takeoff on 18 main.
If I may post another query.......... The terminal is lit up at night but the apron is in complete darkness. The high light stands surrounding the apron don't light up. At least on my system they don't. Is this something that could be adjusted in an update or do I have a problem that nobody else has?..........
Thanks,
Daryl
