Wanting Afcads for New Zealand Airports

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby wolfmanslack » Sun Oct 17, 2010 9:57 pm

Hi guys,
A friend and I are rebuilding the sector file for New Zealand for Euroscope, we currently have the land base and sid's stars etc. We also have the airports, we are working on runways at the moment. What I am looking to do is put in the afcad's for each airport, I have gone through flightsim.com and downloaded all that they have but there are still more airports that I would like to get.
We would like to build the most complete sector file that we can, so if you can help me please e-mail me at wolfmanslack@hotmail.com

Thanks

Stu

Sounds like a very detailed, ambitious project - all the best! thumbup1.gif

whathesaid.gif Do not use this often whathesaid.gif , I would wait to see the VLC patch or advance your offer to Tim and Robin and help speed the process .

A very ambitious plan given that many different sceneries, of the same airfield, can have different AFCADs and that they can also vary markedly between FS9 and FSX.
Is this for VATNZ or some other group?
Remember the 50-50-90 rule. Anytime you have a 50-50 chance of getting something right, there's a 90% probability you'll get it wrong!

For FS9: Just about everything you could land on in NZ is covered.
What's not on flightsim.com is here, or in the GNZLAP AI package.
All are to Christian Stock's 20m mesh which is going to be as good as it gets.

For FSX: Good luck...

Hi cowpatz,
with Euroscope adding the Afcads shows the outline of the Airport, runways and parking etc etc. It also looks real nice zooming in on an airport to see this instead of just a line with the two runway numbers on it.

While this is for another group, I have no proplem shareing this sector file with VATNZ. and would welcome testers and extra support from guys who are willing to help get this sector file looking better that the current one.

You mean something like this at NZAA?

I would be interested to know how the AFCAD integrates with the sector file.

Hey Cowpatz,

Yes just like that, but my way of looking at it is why should we only see the Runways etc at the major international airports and only the runway line for the smaller airports.

Give me a bit of time to get the things together and finish of the sector file and I will send it to you. Are you using the current one fron VATNZ?

Yes I am. If you look at the latest file a lot of the smaller airfields have been done already and the rest are not far off.
The only thing not on there is the parking spots and that is very scenery specific.
I will be interested to see your sector file.
