Abacus seems to be MIA and I've tried various ways of getting hold of them but none are working.

Does anyone have or know of an alternate place to download Scenery Shortcut for FSX?

Cheers, Michael

Nope, but the SDK BGL compiler is just as easy.

It is located in your SDK directory...\Microsoft Flight Simulator X SDK\SDK\Environment Kit\BGL Compiler SDK\BglComp.exe

Drag your scenery file created from the OBJ placement tool from where ever you have them saved onto the "BglComp.exe". A BGL file of the same name as the scenery file will be created next to it ready for input into your scenery folder. :-)

What problems are you having with Abacus?
The site seems to be working fine at the moment.
I've always been a bit confused by this tool -- it seems to have resulted from the author's lack of information on OPT. The product page states "The drawback of the Object Placement Tool is that the 3D scenery appears only for the duration of a mission. So if you are not flying the mission, you won't be able to see the scenery. " which is not at all correct.
You can get the same result as this tool, using the same number of steps, just using the SDK.

Oh really? Sweet. I'll do this, I was under the impression you needed a tool.

Oh they're just not replying. I went through the usual path to download it about a week ago, and if they said if an emails not here in 25 hours email them. So I did but no reply.

So I just got back to my "FS" computer and want to continue with my airport. Figured posting here is more likely to get a far better result, which it has done! Thanks guys.
