Beter default airport textures

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby Dion500 » Sat Mar 13, 2010 10:04 am

Hi there,

Im am looking for better textures for airports in FSX, i just dont know what one is the best, because there are so many out there.
So i was wondering if anyone here had a good sugestion for an add-on
Preferable, a freeware, but if there is a really good payware, for a good price, i wouldnt mind that

I just want taxiways and runways to look more like, well, taxiways and runways

So yeah, if there are any good textures, i would like to hear

Thanks,
Dion

I'd go for REX. Apart from great weather, you get choices of taxiway and runway textures. Check your spec is grunty enough for the weather engine first though.

I have thought about REX, but i only have a 2.0Gh processor, 2 gig of ram, but im only running 32 bit Win 7, so i can only use 1 gig of that, and that really annoys me, and a 256 graphics card, so im not sure if mine will be able to handle it that well

1 gig? Win7 can use all 2 gigs can it not?

And your graphics card won't be the issue. It'l all be in the processor. What type of processor is it? (Pentium, core 2 duo, core 2 quad, heaven forbid, core i7 tongue.gif )

Dion , there are freeware texture packages available , FSX is only Win32bit anyways . you will not see any desired affect until you upgrade your G/card and RAM .

but yeah, im thinking of getting a new computer all together, so i could run good things like that

Wrong! winkyy.gif

64-bit Win7 can use up to 192Gb (Ultimate) ... though Home can use only 8Gb.
