Whangarei Water

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby deecee3 » Sat Oct 14, 2006 7:55 pm

I have a huge block of water at each end of the main runway at Whangarei after downloading David Quirey's excellent program [Avsim "nzwr.zip"]. I have tolerated this for some considerable time only because in our house Apathy Rules! Can some kind dude please put this old pensioner right? PS: i would like to include a screenshot but i don't know how-any suggestions will be welcomed.

You are not alone deecee3, we all see it.

It happens with both the freeware 75m mesh, and the payware 20m mesh- as far as I know there is no fix for it.

The exact same thing also happens at NZWN, and many other airports around the country are either sunken in rectangular ditches or elevated on rectangular platforms...

As for posting screenshots, read here: Uploading Images Guide

The same thing used to happen at NZWR to me as well using Dave Quirys scenery, and every other NZWR i have tried,............ except one,...............
Luke Clarke's Whangarei. nzwr_v11.zip from Flightsim.com. The big raised bits of water at NZWR are from Microsoft's original default airport flattens, the same with the sunken and raised rectangles you mentioned Trolly.
You can eliminate them by making a flatten switch and adding it to that scenery's particular entry in the main scenery.cfg file. The raised water at Wellington is no longer a problem if you are using Robin's RealNZ Wellington.
