complete & seamless NZ photoreal scenery

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

So I have started work on Autogen placement for Ant's Photoscenery. Looking not too bad so far from my small test area.

I want to get buildings, more landclass variations over all, as well as things like Windfarms, Powerlines, Street lights, and maybe fence centerlines (but this would have performance issues so not sure yet)

A few more tests with placing Autogen using NZLCDB Version 4.1 land class data from shape files. Stewart Island, and using only one tree type to see the results, they are pretty accurate over the photoreal scenery.

One more, with more tree variations, better colouring, and shadows turned on for that extra effect.

they look good Kelvin

everything is uploaded now at
https://gumroad.com/antdavison

the documentation has some tiling schematics which might be helpful

it needed some sort of branding that worked in a circle, so since Rob already has the silver fern, I went with a 'third-choice red peak' inspired roundel,
cunningly squished to give multiples-of-30-degree design features.

Hey all,

Just thought I would step it up a little as i'm well underway with creating the most comprehensive autogen environment New Zealand has ever had.

The reson i'm posting here is because the autogen is based on Ant Davison's Photoreal scenery (2012 dataset) but should work with any NZ scenery, i.e high res texture sets.

Seeing as this is turning into a massive project and very time investing, i'm likely to place a small charge on the end product, don't worry, i'm not greedy nor trying to do this at an enterprise level so the cost will be very low indeed, it will just help me justify all the time I am, and will be, spending on this complete autogen replacement scenery. working it out it would be sold at $12 and any updates and improvements will be absolutley free for the lifetime of the product for existing purchasers of the product.

I have setup a facebook account so you can follow progress as it happens.
https://www.facebook.com/NZScenery/

I really want this to be a complete scenery replacement that should work away from decencies on other 3rd party products.

Most of all i'm open to feedback and will do my best to assist and answer queries.

Cheers,

Kelvin
