Exciting Updates for MSFS2024 from NZA Simulations!

Hey everyone! We’re thrilled to bring you the latest on our product updates for MSFS2024. Our team has been working hard to ensure smooth compatibility, stunning visuals, and an immersive experience—all at no extra cost! Here’s a look at what’s changed:

New Features & Enhancements:

New DEM Data & Bing Imagery for New Zealand: We have adjusted everything to work seamlessly with our detailed sceneries.
Advanced Ground Materials with high-res textures and displacement maps to elevate realism.
Walk-Around Mode now with collisions on most objects you would expect to stand on—explore ATC positions, ascend stairs, and walk around our detailed terminals.
Improved Lighting & LODs: Our products now support up to 8 Levels of Detail, plus additional lighting improvements.
Additional Visuals & Quality Updates: We’ve added more people, details, and visual enhancements to bring our locations to life.

Planned Product Compatibility Updates for MSFS2024:

Newly updated with 2024 features available for release:
NZRA - Raglan, NZMK - Motueka, NZNS - Nelson, NZTG - Tauranga, YCBG - Cambridge, YMHB - Hobart
NZCH - Christchurch: A 2024 version update is available for release but will be running in legacy compatibility mode.
NZWF - Wanaka: The current version runs great on 2024 and has some new 2024 support features already! There is a patch update (1.0.2) that is compatible for both 2020 and 2024 that fixes some bugs that were reported, thanks to the community. A 2024 built version will come after release.
NZMF - Milford Sound Region: There is an update running in legacy mode, but we need more time to get a fully updated version, but have fixed some major issues.
NZMC - Mount Cook Region: This also requires more time to get sorted, but you can still use the 2020 version in 2024, with some minor issues, but works fine in general.
Freeware Updates Planned After Release: Napier Freeware, Oamaru, Kalgoorlie, and Rotorua & Westport World Update Enhancements will be reviewed for any required updates post-2024 launch.
New NZA Model Library 2024 version is available. This is required for MSFS2024, the 2020 Library is for 2020 only.
These updates, (once available), will be able to be downloaded from your NZA Account as separate downloads and both the 2020 & 2024 versions can be downloaded, but only 2020 packages will run in the old simulator.

Marketplace Availability:
Our MSFS2020 products will remain available running in 2020 addon compatibility mode for MSFS2024 and will be upgraded to the new 2024 release versions as soon as Microsoft enables us to upload the new packages. Microsoft have said that the marketplace will be delayed by 3 weeks.

Marketplace Liveries:
At this stage, what we understand from Asobo is the new updates for the aircraft being modular models in the new simulator means that most liveries won't work, but we think it will just be a quick fix on our end to get them working again. But will know more later and will try to update them for 2024 if we can.

Known Bugs:
Minor issues may be present with LODs and lighting in some places.
Walk-around mode may have minor collision quirks on some objects but we have done our best for a smooth experience.
Polygon Materials don't draw in the current version on 2020 built packages. Asobo are working on this and will be in a game update. This will have some minor issues at NZMF and some other places for launch.
Please report any issues on our Discord ticketing system so we can refine these in future updates

Thank you for your continued support! ❤️

Some details & availability mentioned may change slightly as we are working with the Dev Alpha build of MSFS2024 which is not the final release version and some changes may arise.

So great to see NZA on the case, although with Wanaka, surely not not too much room for improvement :D

Is the patch available yet, I don't see it in my account?
