Nope. I have alot more work to do with it.

Autogen, waiting for next VLC patch, more afcad editing, photos, aligning with roads, seasonal variation, night lighting (if any), gmax poly, etc. biggrin.gif

Copyright doesn't distinguish between payware and freeware.

This is one question always asked and yeah nice to see the screens , many and all have hands tied due to legal rights , some gorgeous piece,s off works but yeah end off the day .. and i don,t even why its so easy to access only not to be able to use it , i,m sure this should change within the next few years .

Is there no royalty-free imagery available for Gt Barrier?

I'm sure the experienced (or commercial) scenery designers here have been down this path many a time - and have their own sources for free (or cheap) images. Searching NZFF will probably produce a fair few hits on this subject.

I think that is THE problem for NZ - there is little, if any, free or cheap good imagery available for photo-real. Mike seems to have got some good stuff for Abel Tasman - not sure how he scored that (because it certainly isn't the colourised stuff that is usually used). The only imagery I found for the Bay was some ancient low-res stuff (but full colour), or Aerial Mapping (@ $20 + GST per 500m x 100m or so per tile). The Aerial Mapping stuff is awesome - and comes with an awesome price-tag. I tried to haggle with them, told them it was just me farting about with some personal project for scenery - but they wouldn't budge. Of course, if I buy X number of tiles I can get the price down to around $10+ GST per tile, but I think that is for 500 or more tiles - $5k for just Napier airport and city for a personal project? I don't think so.

I do have a contact at the Hastings District Council who thinks he might be able to help, but I haven't got very far down that track yet. It's possible that other District or City councils may help, but I wouldn't be holding my breath. I'm sure Mike, Timmo & Robin will have plenty of info about this subject...
