Had some fun at Snowman's Nelson Lakes, draping some photoreal over the landscape using Maps2bgl.

Not quite Gavin Conroy...Fauville's repaint pretty enough though

Horrible when you hit the edge, old photos are green. Can't get it right in NZ.
Half the time the place looks not green enough...

Nice mate thumbup1.gif The green is "different" You need to make it all green other wise it looks a bit weird.
I will add the nelson lakes scenery tommorow hopefully.

You can't easily. What he's done is used Google Earth images of NZ to make a photoreal ground texture. Pretty clever really biggrin.gif

Yes and if you go on Google Earth yourself, you will notice lots of differences in patches.
Lots of darker patches, lighter patches, bits with half a cloud, only half a road, etc. It's just the way it is with Google Earth.
This is actually quite a cool idea really.

Well...if you have normal, take a look, then...look above rolleyes.gif ! There's no autogen on the photoreal, so has limited use (>2000ft say). Didn't know there were different versions, mine is probably a little out of date. This is all just playing, 'aving a look.
