South Island Airports

Has anyone done scenery work on the lesser known airports on the S. Island? I have the major ones, e.g. My Cook, Dunedin, Queenstown, Christchurch, Milford Sound, Nelson, Timaru and Invergargil. Also Wanaka but still haven't seen a suggestion for the fix where a portion of the runway is missing. This was posted previously under the topic "South Island Scenery problems".

For instance, I flew into NZMK (Motueka) and encountered a significant number of trees on the runway and elsewhere where they shouldn't be. I'm planning to do a S. Island tour and would like to have available a number of airports to visit like there are on the N. Island.

Also, again, is there a fix for Wanaka? Or maybe I should get 'Real New Zealand' scenery for Wanaka.

Here's a problem with the Te Anau (default?) airport. Who ca Land here except by heli?

I think you need the Red baron topo, that should fix the runway at Wanaka, it has at least for my friend. Trees on runways and all I think has something to do with the afcads, I still haven't found a fix or how to fix them yet.

I'd make Rangiora airport/airfield if I knew how to make scenery, seeing as I don't live that far away I could probably go get photos.

Plenty of other South Island sceneries out there if you look............

Kaikoura, a freeware Photoreal scenery by Robin Corn.
Timaru, another freeware photoreal by Robin Corn.
City of Timaru by Heath Wells, (goes with Robin's airport).
Hokitika , by Clive Ryan.
Greymouth, by ME
Milford Sound by ME
Ryans Creek (Stewart Island), by ME.
Also under construction in the South Island by ME, Alexandra, Hanmer Springs, Taieri, Oamaru, Westport.

Also, Ron Watson has done sceneries for Aviamore and Benmore Hydro Dams, and others in the SI.

Have a real good search around avsim.com and flightsim.com ......................... amazing what you will find.....

I do have Red Baron Topo installed. Here is a screen shot of a portion of the installed library. I've never noticed this occuring before either. Te Anau was always properly rendered.


Just wish I knew why the S. Island is having problems now.

I'll check on some of the other scenery mentioned, and I do have some of them already. Just forgot to list them. But I'll be looking for the new ones.
