Request for Greymouth Airport Photos.

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby Snowman » Thu Sep 20, 2007 2:10 am

Is there anybody on the west coast of the South Island that may have any reasonably recent photos of NZGM Greymouth Airport ??
Photos wanted for the purpose of building an airport scenery for Greymouth.
Looking for pics of the general layout of buildings and such the like, and also colours and architechture types.
Even B & W pics would be fine, and if someone had an aerial shot of the place that would be really cool.
PM me here, or e-mail snowman@nzff.org

Will try to get some next time i'm up that way which im not sure when that will be. Air west coast are supposed to be building a big terminal/hangars there soon which will be quite a significant difference to the way it is now.

Thanks for that.
Be interesting to see what it would look like once a new terminal and these new hangers are built.
DO you know if they have displayed any plans, with maybe artisits impressions of what it will look like ???

No not yet. When I find out I'll let you know. I "heard" a while ago that it might be a similar design and look to the wings over whales terminal in Kaikoura. I don' think they have started building it yet but last time I was there the site was cleared and marked out with pegs etc. In the north eastern corner.

Much appreciated. Really be interested to see what its gonna look like. I was building a scenery for Greymouth, but im not sure if i should go ahead with it as is, or wait untill they build the new parts. The scenery is already about 60% complete..............

Lawrie could the scenery just be patched with the new building when it is built?
This is the West Coast it could take years to build smile.gif
Cheers

Hi Peebee,.............. That would be very much appreciated, if you can spare the time.
I have a couple of good aerial pics if it but i cant tell from them what some of the buildings actually are (bit hard to tell when all you can see is the roof !!). Im looking for a few pics of the general layout of the place, and placement of building types etc.
Really, anything would be a help, there is very little available online in the way of pics for the place.

Hi Sam (& welcome to NZFF!)

I dont think Lawrie needs them now as the scenery is done - but thanks for the offer - are you in Greymouth/ West Coast?

Cheers

Paul
