Best Ardmore Scenary?

An area to discuss scenery addons for virtual NZ

Postby HardCorePawn » Sun Oct 01, 2006 11:20 am

Ok,

until I figure out how to get blood from a stone[1], and can get my hands on the 20m mesh, RealNZ Auckland City and then wait very very patiently for Robin to put out the Auckland Airports, what is the best freeware alternative for a nice and somewhat realistic Ardmore? Bearing in mind, that I only have the 75m mesh

As I will more than likely be continuing my flight training there, it makes sense to get used to the area and approachs etc...

In fact, is there any decent freeware Auckland scenary?? The lot I installed on my early comp was really messed up, with like 2 southern motorways and other wierd stuff like that.

cheers,
HCP

Try ....... ...... auckland_real_nz_airports.zip from AVSIM. Contains Ardmore as well as Auckland International, North Shore, Whenuapai etc.

Actually, I should not say such naughty things

To be fair, my wife puts up with me and my spending quite well... as long as i dont complain too loudy about the 60 million pairs of shoes in her wardrobe (that to me are all black and all look the same?!?!?! )

I'm holding out for Robin's REAL NZ update. I don't have the Rob's redone airports as they will proberly eat all my FPS, so at the moment, I am just using the GNZLAP afcad.

I can't wait for a payware version already

yeah... to be honest, i'm not sure who's ardmore I have... i think i dragged it out of the auckland_real_nz_airports.zip file...

and i dont have any FPS issues... i havent seen it budge from the 20 that i locked it at for online play... but thats what a spanky new cpu + vidcard + boatloads of ram does for your FS experience

to be honest, i am actually half tempted to try my hand at this scenery business... coz its driving me nuts

ps. love the new avatar trolly... front seat of MAD??

Trolly, if you have a half way decent computer, Robs airports should not eat up your FPS. My youngest son has an old cast-off machine of mine from years ago in the Windows 2000 era. Its an old P-3 866mhz, 256mb DDR266 Ram, 64mb Gforce MX440 Video, and he gets around 15 to 17fps at Ardmore with AI traffic around, although it does drop to around only 10 to 12 fps at NZAA wih AI traffic around. Its an old dunger, but it works for him. And ive tweaked the hell out of his FS9 install to get it looking and going as best can be on an old slow machine.
