Hi Guys,
I am at present drawing up an afcad and have come across a little problem. The elevation according to AIP NZ reckon its 97metres, according to another 'official" source it is 97 feet.
Anyone able to confirm either way,any locals ?
Cheers

Thanks for the link,I now know we are talking about 'Takaka' (not Takata) over the hill from Motueka.Great place,I hired a C172 from Nelson and flew there and back and checked out Harwoods hole and the Able Tasman.Great flight,it took about 45 mins all up and cost exactly $100. I bowled up to the aero club one day and said I wanted to go flying and that I had exactly $100 and not a penny more.

I did get some good photo's which I'll post on this forum when I get a scanner (they're not digitals). I also have some pics from a Queenstown-Te Anau-Manapouri-Milford Sound and back to Q town getting a good shot of the Sutherland falls on the way back.(highest falls in the southern hemisphere)

I've done that a few times over the years (spontaneously going to aero clubs and trying to get a flight) although I've only had a camera on those two occasions.I thoroughly recommend doing this as you pick the day and weather, although you do have to wait sometimes for a plane. Some people just don't get it and tell me what a waste of money as they buy another crate of beer or three or spend way more on that green stuff trying to escape reality. This dose of pure reality (flying) is way better than any drug and the memory lasts a lifetime. So next time you're thinking of taking your date to some expensive resteruant take a twilight flight instead,I reckon she'll be as impressed as you and you'll get top marks (from her) for originality.Sorry I'm raving now ah yes Takaka thoroughly recommended!

Codge, does that mean you're from Nelson?

No (see your PM)I just spent a month there a few years back and thought the area worthy of hiring a cessna to have a look from the air.(as you do)
