Does any one know were i can get some good christchurch scenery that isnt gana kill all my fps.

Iv got a 1ghz cpu, 256mb ram and a 64md gforce 4 graphics card.(sad i know)

Since No one else has jumped in can you tel me which version and author of Christchurch you are currently using?

Although looking at the spec of machine you may find that quite a few scenery addons are going to kill your framerates and also it depends on how much AI, type of plane and clouds you have running at the time.

At the moment i have no christchurch scenery only the 75m elevation mesh by Christian Stock. I just have the defualt AI usaly at around 40% but i'm prepared to turn that off for some scenery. How i have the clouds set depends on were i'm flying, e.g if im in sydney i might have them Right down or if i'm in antarctica ill have them up, so it realy depends on the detail of the scenery im in. And i usaly use posky aircraft with the best freeware panel i can find(which sometimes arnt to good on the frames eathier) , but sometimeds i use real frame freindly planes like the defualt 172. I keep away from aircraft with big texture files as they can take a long time to load and cause a major drop in fps :( thats all i think im always happy to fidle around with sliders except for the secenery complexity i like to keep no less that normal. :)

Howdy,

Ouch! (looking at your rig's specs, that is). Methinks you'd be much better served using a correct afcad for the default NZCH. The best, to date, has to be:

af2_nzch_v1.1.zip by John Henderson; Size: 194kb; available from AvSim.

Description: NZCH AFCAD for Default NZCH scenery. This AFCAD will make aircraft at NZCH park in more realistic spaces (based on Owen Mitchels AFCAD for Ian Warrens NZCH). This AFCAD activates RWY 11/29. Also, this AFCAD has correct parking spaces for: the Air New Zealand Mount Cook fleet, the Air NZ ATRS, and ANZ link. Aircraft will park the same way they do in real life.

oh kool ill get that ... i had a afcad file for NZCh once before but i got rid of it cos it made it seem like there was a runway on every radial!! real bad whan listening to the atis

iv got that christchurch pakage from www.nzscenery and if i put all my sliders down except for the mipping on 4 and mesh complxity on 50 and high ground textures it seems to be alright . it just seems to have an impact on fps when i put up the 3d objets sliders (its great scenery thow the rivers look amazin) :D
