How did you manage to land that big plane into such a small airstrip??

being light you will be surprised , a good way to practice is a stationary carrier (Kue Shan approach worked best) , CV59 USS Forestal traveling at 33.5 knots on a average , many flights tried both landing and taking off , properly loaded C130 only used half the length of the angle deck , this demo i also programed a good head wind , hardest part was finding the field , with a drop off the end it made it just on take off biggrin.gif

We are so lucky , we have our own in house Air force Specialist Mr Deane Baunton - i'm guess spec's for extreme tests would be availible , I'm sure the RNZAF would not test C130s in such a fashion ( 5 in Charge ) , in any case we don't have a suitable aircraft carrier .

Sorry to say Ian - the RNZAF fly there Hercs by the numbers. All the takeoff / landing distances are carefully calculated using the charts in the flight manual. It would only be in a dire emergency or combat situation where one would "push" the limits - maybe.
BTW I "retired" from the Air Force last week (Tues 16th) after almost 23 years, so I'm now a Civvy !!

Wow, this pack is such an awesome idea! If only I still had FS9 and FSX sad.gif !

Any chance the AI planes would be flyable in FS98?

No, I'm not kidding!

Haha thanks guys! tongue.gif Sold the new versions a while back as I grew bored - luckily FS98 never sold, so I can still experience flight sim.........installed it a coupla days ago, having great fun!

Charl - I ask as I'd love WAW-schemed Crecos and Fletchers for FS98, but I've no idea how to repaint....plus the scheme's so difficult!

BTW one reason I disappeared is because my work situation changed: I'm no longer "earning" minimum wage at Pak N Save, instead I'm now a month into a modern engineering apprenticeship at Wanganui Aero Work! Hence the sudden desire for WAW aircraft in FS!

Ooh we needed you on the spot a couple of months ago...still I'm sure there's something to come out of your stay at WAW.
FS98 - Well I can't wait for a screenshot!
Zac I'm pretty sure FS9 planes won't show up in FS98, but surely you can spring for a replacement copy of FS9??
It's a long-term investment y'know biggrin.gif

Good one Bevan, you sometimes have to hold your breath when you roll out on those little strips eh? biggrin.gif

I see you sometimes get "Blurries" popping in.
The scenery objects in this package were kindly provided by Snowman, and the blurry fix can be found here.
This fixes the problem for all Snowman's many NZ sceneries too, so worth getting.

Thanks guys and appreciate the heads up about the blurries, I thought it was purely performance related although I'm running it on a good box. I'll give those textures a go!

You will find it will also cure the blurries for any overseas freeware sceneries you have that use any of Sidney Schwartz's EZ Scenery object sets.

Yes that did the trick alright, I was so frustrated by my aircraft turning blurry as soon as I hopped in! Brilliant, thanks.
