Right, so I purchased and downloaded the HTAI package, and installed it along with the GNZLAP 2 package.

I have a question that I could not find the answer for in the readme files,

In the traffic settings, what category do the GNZLAP aircraft come under? General Aviation of Airline? I am guess it would be general aviation, but then I am not sure if I would see aircraft from say Great Barrier Airlines if I unticked the airline box?

At the moment, I have this traffic setting:

But after flying around Great Barrier Island, real time this sunday morning, I did not see any AI. When I went down to Tauranga, I only saw 5 AI. One was a default Learjet, two where ZK-'s and the other two where just blank HTAI AI.

One of the GNZLAP's had a tail like this:

GNZLAP is all GA

Start off by dumping the traffic file that came with HTAI,
and also the original MS traffic file.
Rename it as follows:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\World\scenery\traffic030528.ORIGINAL"
Check that you have these files:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\World\scenery\Traffic NZ21.bgl"
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\World\scenery\Traffic NZ22.bgl"

Check that you have AFCADs (with adequate parking) in place for each airport. The supplied ones do the job generally but may have quirks if you have different addon airports installed.

AI is fairly fickle, it doesn't immediately show up at the specified times, so let the sim run 5 minutes or so for it to clear its throat.
I've included some flights to allow you to check the AI.
Try them and you should see local A/C movements. Remember even though there are 60 planes buzzing around, you won't see them all because, well, they're buzzing around. A good time to spot 'em on the ground is 19:00 GMT

At 11:15 this morning 17 Sept 06 I have this at NZGB:

That wretched Piper is one of 2 bad paints I let slip through the net. There's a glitch in the model, and I will kill it in the next release, probably.
EDIT: Maybe Naki is right, there's a lot of parts swapping done to keep A/C in the air. Would you rather have no paint on the rudder, or a rudder with a broken main spar? :D

Thanks for the reply Charl.

I didn't realise that HTAI included its own traffic file, so I have removed that.

Now everything is sweet at NZGB- thanks for the tip!

As for the tailfin, I couldn't care less really- just wanted to point it out to you as chief of GNZLAP. Sure there are gonna be a few little hickups, no one is perfect mate ;) I am behind your project all the way, supporting you 100%

BTW, I see you included the Mitsi Pajero which is now in my aircraft folder although not in my list of flyable craft in the sim- how can I drive it around? :D

Glad you got sorted, the GNZLAP experience is difficult not to over-hype, so often the expectation is higher than the delivery.
But it will just add and grow as time goes by.

For the Mitsi: Download the original model from AVSIM, these are textures only.

And I just noticed, I have too many Islanders at GB.
This is because the 1st edition of VOZ AI (which I run) had them duplicated.
They hope to sort this out before the next release.

Thanks, rgr that Charl.

What is the file name for the Pajero at AVsim then?

Also, is it possible to get a copy of that ZK-LAP helecopter?

Mitsi:
pajeroio.zip from www.flightsim.com
MD500 paint doesn't stand close inspection, I always mean to get it fixed and release it, but somehow there's always something more pressing ;)

Charl,

After "dumping" the HTAI and MS traffic files I am a bit confused as what file needs to be renamed??

and also the original MS traffic file.
Rename it as follows:
"C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9\Scenery\World\scenery\traffic030528.ORIGINAL"

Meaning:
Throw away the HTAI traffic file but rename the default MS traffic file so you still have it available without having to re-install FS.

Redda03,........ Rename the file C/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator 9/Scenery/World/Scenery/traffic030528.bgl to the following..........
C/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Flight Simulator 9/Scenery/World/Scenery/traffic030528.ORIGINAL
All you are doing is changing the file extension from .bgl to .ORIGINAL, traffic030528.bgl, to ....... traffic030528.ORIGINAL
The traffic030528.bgl is MSs original default traffic file.

Lawrie.
