I just came across this list on Phil Taylors blog- It gives a nice summary of some (not exhaustive) of the freeware FSX specific aircraft compiled with the FSX SDK.

Why is this important? Because objects in FSX that have been made with the FSX SDK will give better framerates, use DX10 capability (if included in the model) and features.

The list is below so have a look, check out any aircraft that catch your eye and then feel free to post some shots/thoughts about it in the 'Aircraft' sub forum.

Erm, 1938 Waterman Arrowbile, anyone??
Couple of Kiwi entries of course, (Seasprite, CT4) but I thought DeanB's Fletcher was also a "true" FSX?
Really, the ones to watch are the makeovers of Milton Shupe's excellent previous models.

No - unfortunately I could never to get my modelling program FSDS3 to compile for FSX. I have now upgraded to FSDS3.5 which will, but this will be for future models.

Thanks for the link Timmo - wouldn't mind seeing a list of true FSX payware aircraft too.

That list just sums up for me what my impression is of the style of flying of each of the sims. If you want to fly airliners, you use FS9, if you want to fly GA, you use X. I looked at this list and there isn't a single thing on there I would want to download (for FS9 or X) laugh.gif Where are the Boeings and Airbuses? He says there has been a steady release of new aircraft, but it's all GA.. Even the brand new Posky 777 is released for FS2004. And this was released 3 August 2008. I'm not in the slightest bashing FSX, as I love FSX, but in my opinion for the airliner community, FS9 still rules the roost. GA and VFR, FSX wins hands down. Thanks for the link anyway Timmo smile.gif
