I am having a error, one that causes the simulator to close, it happens at differant times. The error report has ntdll.dll. Before the error there is alot of harddrive activity and also the DVD drive, harddrive and DVD drive activity followed by the error message.

While I was at it, I found a great program called, nHancer, have a look for it, its a great program.

I installed the 767, then I installed SP1, then I installed the 767 SP1. Could this be the problem, that I did it before SP1? The only other thing I have is the SR22.

Thanks
James

ntll.dll

A brief seach pops up this "The ntdll.dll file is a file created by Microsoft that has a description of "NT Layer DLL" and is the file that contains NT kernel functions."

This fill should not be touched by any installed flight sim add ons, as the file is windows file and needed by windows to run, do you get error only when running flight sim, are you running Vista or XP. if the file is corrupt then it will be possible to recover it.

I have only got it when running FSX. I have only seen it when loading things, such as changing views or changing aircraft. Sometimes I can go for a while without it happening, othertimes it happens as soon as I select my aircraft type.

Thanks

Cool had another look round, and I guy at least had the same problem with FS9 turned out it was a module in the MODULES folder that was coursing ntdll.dll to crash

This makes sense if you select an aircraft it calls a add on module which then crashes. I would check for any updates for any add ons that you have justed add an confirm that they are FSX compatible.

hope that helps

Thanks Ashley, I will see what I can do with the 767, that might be causeing it, or the SR22. It happens with both of these, might be FSUIPC, they would be both use FSUIPC I would think.

I'm also going to try a new driver, see if that has any effect.

Thanks
James

James. Have a geeze at how to install SP1. Basically you need a stock FSX, no addons. Dunno if that includes the 767 that you installed or not. Yesterday I did a whole reinstall of FSX, then SP1, then all ma addon aircraft, scenery, and tweaks, and I'm noticing an imprivement in how the sim acts.

I had a similar problem so I did a full reinstall. thought it could have been bad scenery, but it kept crashing. I then saw the post on modules and deeted it(only fsuipc in it) and no problem whatsoever. Maybe FSUIPC was damaged in a way, maybe it is because there isn't a modules file installed in the main folder.

BTW what does FSUIPC do?

FSUIPC is a utility that allows external addons to communicate with FS... it provides an interface that allows these addons to see things like altitude, heading, speed etc...
