I am just wondering if it is possible to import and export aircraft between fs9 and fsx?
Anyone know if this is possible and how to do it? Is it as easy as copying an aircraft folder?

Yes it is. Copy the aircraft to
Microsoft Flight Simulator X Demo\SimObjects\airplanes.
A couple of problems though - the alpha channel in the textures is used a different way so some aircraft maybe semi-transparent from the outside !!
Also FSX only seems to read gauges packaged in Cab files, so this limits your ability to transfer gauges.
Given MS have assured backwards compatibility I would assume these problems will be fixed for the full release

You also require the following fix:
Good news! You can import FS9 (MSFS 2004) aircraft into the FSX demo. Be warned, there are some issues, mostly minor and they occur on session startup, and the fix seems to be to quite the virtual cockpit (default in X?) and then return to the VC.
In order to fix another visual bug in X when you run 9's aircraft you have to copy an environment file from FS9 Texture folder:
copy the file ENVMAP.BMP and,
paste it into the Microsoft Flight Simulator X Demo\Texture\ folder,
select an aircraft folder from the FS9 Aircraft folder,
paste the aircraft folder into the Microsoft Flight Simulator X Demo\SimObjects\aircraft folder,
the new aircraft will appear, without a thumbnail but labelled, in X's aircraft selection menu,
select the aircraft from the menu, and setup the other parameters for the session, then go fly.
(I am not the originator of the above method, so my thanks to the poster on the avsim.com MSFSX forum for the Tip.)

I was told you can copy the runway textures across, but not the sky and water as they are 32bit textures not 64bit textures (or something like that)

yeah i was wondering if i could use them with ez scenery at the time just adding them to an addon scenery folder ,like the default fs9 library that i can use now
i dont have any need for just the textures as i make my own up for scenery object ,
would be nice if we could use the aircraft backward compat like with fs9 and fs2002 but i think this mite change with a real copy of fsx not demo aircraft ,,but i could be totally wrong
