Now this topic may have already been covered elsewhere, but here's a question. Do you give enough thought to your sound system?? I didn't really think about it; a couple of reasonable stereo speakers, a headset for ATC & VATSIM traffic, some half decent sound sets for the aircraft and she'll be right.

But . . .having recently upgraded to a MB with 5.1 Surround Sound outlets and a Logitech 5.1 system for under $100 at Dick Smith's at present and I thought - Why Not?

What a difference! Damn it, we spend so much money on buying other peripherals to try and achieve "total immersion" in our simming and suddenly I have discovered a real gem. Ground shaking ground roll, fantastic surround sound noises that move beautifully with the pan view, great internal/external sounds, totally different and believable flap sounds and landing gear that almost felt like it was physically moving out of the bays under my seat.

Well worth the $99 investment if you have the three, 5.1 capable, sound outlets on your Mother Board.

If only...
My flatmate complained incessantly about my surround sound system, so it's been packed away for the last year.
Still, she's taken off on holiday for a week, I might set it up again, turn it right up and rewatch Top Gun...
