Can anyone recommend a good freeware spit for FSX? I'm not in the market to purchase the RealAir spit, but am looking for a decent model with a good virtual cockpit. Does such a beast exist?

Cheers...

You could download the demo FS9 Spitfire from Just Flight - this is compatible with FSX...Im sure that the two seat version of this was released as freeware but I cant find it

Edit: Actually it was Aeroplane Heavens - available here and FSX compatible

another FSX freeware spit is Aeroplane Heavens Seafire which can be found here.. Seafire
There is also a Schmittfire not sure if it will work in FSX but worth a try..
Adrian.

I agree with you Adrian, the Freeware AH Seafire is fantastic, The Schmittfire is flyable in FSX, but i wasnt that impressed with its flying character, the sound package was pretty good though, reminded me of DB powered 109's

Erm... that seafire is listed as being for FS2004. Does it work in FSX?

Tried installing the AH Spirfire trainer and it locks up FSX. Anybody else have this problem?

I had the AH trainer install long while back without a problem , Adrian,s choice off the Seafire is the best again had it installed trying it out , you notice a FSX patch further one the download page .

Other freeware Spitfires that work in FSX is at Flightsim.com - search 'A F Srcub' , these i have out on this PC and there are many versions . I justed checked now and recall Mark Rooks enchanced textures for one off the models.

Cheers Ian. Havnt got that two seater sorted. The only thing I can think of is its something to do with acceleration which I dont have yet. Found the ones you mentioned.
