Excluding rogue objects

In FSX, is there an easy way to exclude the odd object? See the kind of problems I mean:

1) Idiot bridge on the 23L approach in Auckland

2) Queenstown - how did that tree get that big? laugh.gif

Is there a *simple* (and free) application that I could use to create an exclude box (or whatever) to prevent scenery objects (or trees) being placed in certain critical areas?

I have to use "the Sarajevo approach" in my Herc to avoid them. Kind of cool in a Herc, but passengers in my ATR-500 are going through sick bags like there's no tomorrow laugh.gif

You would want to get rid of those! biggrin.gif
Try this page: http://www.scenery.org/design_utilities_b.htm

Down the page a little is: ExcBuilder for FSX
Might do the trick?

Cheers

Should the earlier reply not help there are two FSX utilities agexcl5x.zip and agexcl3x.zip available that deal with problems of autogen trees close to runway thresholds. These two programs delete autogen trees from a threshold extension of either runwaywidth x 5 or runwaywidth x 3. I downloaded them from Flightsim.com some time ago but they do not seem to be available now; or rather I got "no matches available" when I tried. If you want to try them them though e-mail me at clydencath@xtra.co.nz and I will send them to you by e-mail

Thanks for that. I gave it a try, but no luck. There's no documentation with it at all, so I presumed I slewed to the four co-ordinates required in FSX, then let ExcBuilder grab the values.

I created the BGL file and tried placing it in several places. I have Robin's AKL City scenery installed - should my exclude BGL be saved as a seperate add-on with a higher priority? I tried it like that, and also with a copy in Robin's AKL City.

Got the files, thanks Clyde ... but one question: the BGLs affect ALL default airports. I have all of Robin's Godzone sceneries, so I imagine the replaced BGLs won't do a thing on any airports in the Godzone sceneries <??>.

The bridge looks like a topo bridge ? have you got that installed ?
If so you have to find the topo file for the area that has bridges and change it to _____nothing .file ,the agn tools mite be able to do something about the tree but mostly a exclude or placing another object in the spot will make the tree not there .a fence a telephone box what ever you want to will make the tree go just place it in the tree ....

Sbuilder does excludes and flattens and its free ....

I only struck the problem at Westport (default) and cured the problem with the packages quoted. I cannot recall a problem with any of the Real NZ packages and I have them all installed

You're on the button with the NZ Topo. How do I work out which is the offending BGL? I'll try an exclude on that tree!

If you do delete the BGL with the tree in it, you will remove a lot of stuff that is included in the TOPO in quite a large area. (I think) Christian?

Ok the BGL.file starting with br are the bridges ,i know the raglan area is brr994450.oldbgl , this removes all bridges in the area ...

How i found this one i needed above was changing the file name brr994450.bgl to brr994450.oldbgl and restarted the sim and seen if it remove anything ,it took awhile but did the trick
