Acceleration Pack vs SP2?

A forum specifically to discuss the latest and greatest of all flight simulators

Hi Team, I read somewhere that accelerator will not load if you have SP2 installed. Is this right or BS? What do each do? If I can have only one I must make an informed decission. Any comments appreciated.

All you need to do is uninstall SP1/2 , and simply install Accelerator , some people do not have these issues due the OS

Acceleration has SP1 and 2 built into it, so installing Acceleration is the same as installing SP 1/2, you also get an updated Mustang, a jet fighter also I think and a whole raft of missions to boot. So it actually better if these extras tickle ya fancy.

Some addons have issues with acceleration being installed, such as the Level D 767 (hence I only have SP2 installed instead of Accel at the moment)
But if you are a mostly default/ freeware kind of person there should be no issue for you. And even still I would imagine the majority of payware addons have no issue with Accel. But for me and my Level D, for the time being I'll just stick with SP2. I read recently in the Level D support forum that I think they have a fix for Accel now, I'm just too lazy to go about it biggrin.gif lol
I've personally not heard of any other issues with Acceleration, so you might as well install that and get the extra planes and missions. Well worth it.

Thank you guys, thats exactly what I wanted at my early stage in setting up my sim. I will check for SP1/2 and install accel and run with that setup.

I don't have acceleration, just sp1/2. The only place I know of that you can get acceleration is in one of the FSX Gold packs that come round on special every so often. I'm open to correction but as I understand it, you can easily get SP2 anytime but you can only get acceleration by buying the right flavour of FSX.

Yesterday I read on the Aerosoft Airbus X page that it requires acceleration. Ah well, cross that one off the wish list ...

Good lord, that's the price that fsx gold is normally on special at !! I think I'll stick with just crossing the airbus x off of my wish list ...

When you do come back down under you need VLC. It's no longer optional smile.gif
