Is there a team speak address or flight forum to find out where there are any NZ IL2 multiplayer games information. I have installed HyperLobby which I assume people use for this sim.

Thanks.
Gavin

Without wishing to promote a "competitor", you could try Kiwisim. Everything you need to now will be on there. It's not too dissimilar to NZFF (and I dare say a fair few people belong to both). Very friendly bunch - and very helpful in online sessions. They used to set aside one evening in particular.

I haven't "flown" with them for a long time - it was simply too addictive!!!

Hiya

As the local Kiwisim IL2 lad, I echo the comments above. Come and fly with us on either the Inspire Server (Monday nights are our busy night), or join up with us Flying Kiwis (TFK) for some co-op missions (ie us vs the AI planes). We also head off to other servers when the mood strikes, some are full switch (ie no map or plane icons, no external views - damn hard finding your way and identifying who is friendly and foe) others have different settings. We don't usually fly Skies of Fire (bit unfair advantage when you can switch all of the cockpit off I reckon) but sometimes go Skies of Valour. Meet on teamspeak.inspire.net.nz in the IL2 channel and introduce yourself.

My IL2 videos are available from the link under this post.

See you online, I fly as Splatman smile.gif

Some of those co-op missions were simply *awesome* - required good teamwork - co-operation and good communication. I really enjoyed being "a small cog" in those events. The head-to-head combat sessions I found less enjoyable - as I was seriously cr*p and spent more time in a chute than in a plane winkyy.gif

I've played nearly all the online sims a fair bit at one stage or another - and some sims and/or servers can be rife with hacks, tweaks, or people generally exploiting weaknesses in the sim. However - I've *never* had the impression that any of this stuff happened on the Kiwisim/Inspire servers. They seem genuinely above all that [childish] stuff - and are amazingly knowledgeable about the aircraft they "fly".

Woody (our resident co op guru) has posted the following in the KiwiSim forum. Heads up for anyone keen. I'm not able to get online Fri or Sat but will be keen to be a part of this Sunday smile.gif

Welcome to the long weekend gentlemen, the TFK server will be up for Friday and Sunday nights for anyone interested in a bit of fun.

From a test run last Sunday, tonight, The Fall of Crete, May 27 1941, after some modification to make it a little more historically accurate.

German aircraft flying from the captured airfield at Maleme to harass withdrawing Allied troops in the ports, on the roads and mountain passes.

Limited Allied air cover from HMS Formidable (Martlets) or the last couple of Buffaloes from the remaining Allied airfields. Long distance flights are possible from Malta but not advised.

Plenty of targets for both sides and a pretty even plane set so should be some exciting battles.

Cya there, Ill post up the IP when the server goes up tonight

Brilliant thanks for all that, hopefully I will join and fly this weekend.

SoF was a little to unrealistic for me but reading the multiplayer missions on KiwiSim forum looks great.

Hi ZK-MAtt, i have downloaded the 4.09 so i could fly tonight as i hear Monday is a good night for IL-2. Is there a web address that lets us know what's happening? I put in 'teamspeak.inspire.net.nz' in the google but it didn't come up with anything. Then i tried 'www.teamspeak.inspire.net.nz' but it says that it doesn't exist.

A friend of mine 'ilikepie' and i are tired of shoulder stealing, rule breaking and need something a little more honourable so i'm feeling that we are heading in the right direction.

I presume 203.114.130.15:21000 is the correct ip address, i would just like to know now where the forum is? I did think about this being a private e-mail to ZK-MATT but would like to also let other simmers know of our other aviation world IL-2 (original title) and to go out and get a copy of 1946 (newest version with expansions all together) and join in the fun! plane.gif It is still very much alive and never seems to slow down with patches, new skins, maps coming out all the time.

The game IP address is correct - 203.114.130.15:21000 Make sure your in game name has no spaces in it.

Teamspeak is teamspeak.inspire.net.nz Put that in the Teamspeak Server address part, choose a nickname and select 'anonymous'

Great to see you there last night KBG! Was an interesting map, bland scenery and a bit of a distance to travel but some good ole dog-fighting where both sets of planes had their own weaknesses and strengths.

I also downloaded the 4.09 patch to join in a game, but unfortunatly the patch has made my sim unuseable, I think I read somewhere that this patch had issues with Athlon chips, I'll reinstall and try again.

I have an (old 2600) AMD processor and yep, you needed to do something different. It's not hard smile.gif

Copy the mg_snd.dll and mg_snd_sse.dll from your 408 install and place it in your 409 install. That's all.

If you haven't got them or it doesn't work I can give you a link to where I have hosted them (and some other bits and pieces for IL2). Actually I will PM you the link now.

See ya online
