http://il2sturmovik.com/Well, this is the new product of the 1C-Company. I am interested, but after the Performance-Desaster of the Ancestor CoD Iam not shure about. On the other Hand I am interested, because of the historical aspect. The old "Sturmovik" was a "Must have" in my eyes...

This is the work of the Rise of Flight team so it shares nothing with COD and should be a completely fresh start.
If it ends up being the World War II equivalent of ROF I'll be very happy indeed!

Strangely only just been reading about Lavochkin (again) and the development of the LA-5 series and how the team worked in the snow and conditions , then WHAMO! .. out come a wicked fighter ... then the 'Sturmovik' was said by Stalin needed on the front like Russians needed bread , looking at the types you can play around with , think this program would be a must ! - this is my Christmas prezzy for sure !

Unlike Clod there is noway that I would prepurchase this although I am looking forward to it if they make it work.
I dont keep up to date on it in the forums but I have seen signs that perhaps the old Clod developers are back th their old ways. Yes, they are using the ROF engine as the basis so we dont have to rely on them to implement a good engine but to date all correspondence has come from the old clod team, not 777.
Now that things have not gone how the pre purchasers wanted things the 777 guys have stepped in and talked for the first time. I think the 777 studio guys are going to keep it sane and keep the BOS developers on the up and up.
There is no way I would give these guys a cent before I see reviews though.

Interesting. I also haven't been following development but thought most of the early announcements came from Jason at 777.
I agree about not jumping early. IL-2 has a permanent place on my machine (in fact, I have IL-2 1946 and two additional heavily modded versions) but I used CLOD for less than 10 hours I think. I bought the deluxe boxed edition as well, which cost a fortune!
Never again!
