Anyone got it yet? I read a couple of magazine reviews today - both gave it top marks...and after all, it sure has the pedigree right?

DCS A-10C has been out for a while and has had several patches, the next patch will make it compatible in MP with the DCS KA50. I'm waiting for the disc version before I buy it.

Here is a inflight refuelling mission pack I have made for DCS A-10C in both mission you start in the air behind the tanker. There is a single player mission and a 4 ship multiplayer mission. Tanker freq is 150Mhz.

procedure is:

QUOTE
Preparation
When nearing the tanker location, you will want to place the flight in Echelon formation.
1. Radio contact tanker and inform of intent for refueling.
2. At least one engine must be operating at 85% RPM.
3. Safe the aircraft from AHCP:
 Master Arm switch to SAFE
 GUN/PAC switch to SAFE
 LASER switch to SAFE
4. Safe aircraft from DSMS:
 Set Maverick EO power to OFF
5. Set up your Fuel System panel:
 If you have a leak in any of the four internal fuel tanks, you should pull out the Fill Disable button for that tank. This will prevent the damaged fuel tank from being filled.
 Tank Gate switch to the closed position.
6. Open the refueling receptacle slipway. Upon doing so, the READY light will illuminate.
7. Fly the formation to the pre-contact position:
 Wingman 2 takes observational position off flight lead wing (On Deck position).
 Second element takes observational position right of the On Deck position.
 Refueling order is FL  2  3  4
QUOTE
Pre-Contact
Upon reaching the pre-contact position 1 nm behind the tanker in trail, you need to stabilize your position and establish a zero rate of closure on the tanker:
1. Check you have sufficient fuel to complete process.
2. Set IFF to Standby (STBY)
3. Set CMSP to Standby (STBY)
4. If at night or foul weather, enable the exterior lights from the Exterior Lighting Dial.
5. If you cannot establish pre-contact, you must break away or risk an overrun.
6. Request contact from tanker.
7. If given permission, move forward and follow directions of the boom operator. Close to the tanker at 2-3 knots until reaching the contact position. Align the boom with the center longitudinal axis of the aircraft. Make constant reference between the boom and the tanker fuselage and avoid ―chasing‖ the boom.
QUOTE
Contact
1. Once established in the contact position, the boom operator will ―fly‖ the boom into the receptacle.
2. Once boom contact is made, confirm the LATCHED light on the canopy bow is illuminated. The READY light should extinguish.
QUOTE
3. Once both you and the tanker acknowledge contact, the refueling will start.
4. For successive contacts, you must cycle the aerial refuel system by pressing the refuel/reset button (Nosewheel Steering button) or closing and opening the slipway door.
Disconnect
1. When the tanks are full, line pressure will automatically disconnect refueling. When this happens, the DISCONNECT light will illuminate. To manually disconnect, you can also press the nosewheel steering button on the control stick.
2. Close the receptacle slipway door.
3. Decrease power and drop back and down behind the tanker.
4. Once you have pulled out of the contact position, you will establish yourself off the left wing of the tanker.
Following your departure from the contact position, number 2 will move into the contact position and number 3 will move into the On Deck position. This pattern will continue until all aircraft are refueled. As each aircraft is refueled, they will reform with you off the tanker’s left wing.
Heres some screenshots of DCS:

1st Tutorial

1st Check ride Ground handling following the instructor in the humvee

MP inflight refuelling

Some Bloopers:

What happens when you forget to engage NWS after rampstarting in the hangar and taxi forward.

CCIP Tutorial gone wrong self fragging.

A landing gone bad(do not try to land an A-10 like an F-16, no Aerobraking or else this can happen)

yes I ballooned it.

This is what happens if you take off after banging up the nose wheel during taxing.

I still landed it though as the main wheels still came down.(another MP moment)

I've just flown BFT 12 Flying low level and what a surprise I ramp started at Batumi then followed the IP took off and then joinned on his wing when we entered the MOA from there we flew a series of steerpoints at 500ft before finally heading to Kobeleti. Upon arriving I switched to 133Mhz and radioed the tower for landing. After landing I was told to turn down the right taxiway and park on the 1st revetment on the Left, Sabre had hinted at doing a U-turn inside the revetment as part of an Easter Egg. After parking I then had 2minutes to shut down(this timeI did not forget to turn the ILS off or the oxygen- previous failures on attempting to finish this mission). And to my surprise I past with a speech from the IP and the ground crew showed up to congratulate. Quite an awesome mission I highly reccomend it.

Great news for DCS A-10C pilots the flight qualification campaign has been completed and is available for $4.99.

I helped test some of these missions while they were being developed by Sabre they are the best trainning missions I've ever done.

I've just finished flying the 4th mission in the payware BFT campaign and so far it is quite good. Compared to the early versions which had quite a few bugs this seems to run quite good the 1st mission I tested was the Interactive startup mission which comes with the startup list and as you do the mission prompts you to push buttons if it takes to long. (very similar to the one for Falcon BMS) The BFT missions are quite good the 1st being Ground handling which is the same as the 1st one tested where you taxi behind a humvee after a rampstart and drive around the airbase followed by parking up and shut down procedure. 2nd mission was Take off and EFATO so you take off the shut down one engine and turn back for a landing.

Heres some tracks of my flights for those who have the BFT campaign.

https://rapidshare.com/files/2842890433/Subs_tracks.zip

I may make some more movies of some of the flights later on.

Cost is
Interactive startup trainer $0.99US
BFT Campaign $4.99 US

I also got the first payware FC2 mission F-15 First kill $0.99 which is a mission based on the Israeli Air Force first F-15 A/A combat mission.

Those manouvers ain't easy I have failed them several times as you have to be precise to pass and make the required amount of rotations for the defensive spiral, the lazy 8 I have not passed yet and to make the mission even more challenging it ends with a dead stick glide to a very small runway. pirate.gif Which is quite a mission to not break the aeroplane(epic fail if you get that far lol), the stall and spin prior to the defensive spiral are very easy incomparison. BFT7 is even harder involving a clover leaf. ninja.gif

Many find having rudder pedals so much more instinctive rather than just a twist desktop controller .. I wonder how different you would go there . cool.gif

That spiral dive doesn't look very evasive to me. A nice target for my F-16...
