One thing from that press release tho:
QUOTE
Exciting Single-Player Campaign – The campaign thrusts the player into the middle of the battle. The player will join the British Air Force to fight the German forces and renegade pilots on his own side.[/quote]

i'm pretty sure that CoD is the lastest upgrade to IL-2 Sturmovik. Not Storm of war. I have been following the development of both and I am sure they are 2 seperate sims.

No definatly not, it's not an add on, it is Storm of war they changed the name not long before the release.
The latest addon for IL-2 came out just recently, the 4.10 patch, this will be updated in a few week with some fixes and called 4.11 funnily enough.
Go back a few posts Mat has given a link to a kiwisim thread on it, these guys are real IL-2 buffs.

For anyone with IL2 1946 patched to the latest version 4.10, The Flying Kiwis is kicking off a RNZAF Pacific Series, a Solomon island campaign from the point of view of an RNZAF pilot and team. The new patch has brought with it radio position beacons requiring morse code decryption and navigational nouse to find your way from A to B. A bit over my head so I will just follow someone and hope he's not lost lol.

The other thing that occurred to me was that perhaps this *could* refer to some kind of "recognition" system for AI pilots - so that potentially you could be mistaken by some other pilot on your own side for one of the enemy, and attacked mistakenly as a result....
Just speculation tho...

Hmmm...well, you've no doubt heard/read about the incident involving Al Deere, where 54 Sqns CO, S/Ldr "Prof" Leathart flew a Miles Magister (ok, so it's not a Tiger Moth but still...) across the channel to pick up the CO of 74 Squadron, who had force landed on a beach on the wrong side of the ditch. He had Al Deere and Johnny Allen flying escort tho, unlike the poor Tiger Moth in that video, who didn't seem to have any help at all!
