Wow this looks Interesting. It will be very ambitious project and if they actually go through with it I will be very inclined to having a look. Depends on whether my old rock of a computer can handle it actually.....

Whoever creates the next flightsim needs to make it more realistic... Like they have already got the graphics, textures, models great... But they need to add more human factors like communications between ATC and the user I reckon...

You can't get a much more realistic ATC environment than VATSIM. I just completed an FSX flight from NZAA to YSSY as JST202, awesome ATC provided by fellow (experienced and highly professional) enthusiasts via the VATSIM online service. I've been hooked on it for almost a year now. If you haven't tried it, I urge you to, its such a rush!

I think I would like to see more realistic flight modeling, I think FSX is good, but it's still a way off total realism yet, its still a little too easy. Things like stalls are just so easy to recover from, when in reality, one stall and that could well be the end of it! I think the flight modeling in IL2 is actually more realistic (for smaller aircraft anyway).

No matter how good you make it, I don't think you will get the level of realism we'd really like. Fact is, simulators just aren't like flying the real thing. There's this whole other level of 'reality' - you've got so much more there. You have an actual physical thing that you work with and are connected to. It interacts with reality - it actually depends on lift, rather than just a computer imitation of it.

It would be nice to have a sim that is more realistic, but I think that there is a point where it doesn't get any more realistic because it just can't.

Well so far FSX does quite a good job simulating airliners and light aircraft the r22 is also quite good. Looking at the VRS superhornet is proof that a realistic FBW jet fighter is also possible and that was for FS9 so imagine whats possible with FSX. Xplane also does quite a good job simulating flight and DCS Blackshark is the best FM for a helicopter as each rotor is calculated separately. As computers become more powerful then more complex FM are possible as well as avionics and graphics.
