Flys really well I would rate the FM more detailed than the FSX R22s.

Looks a little murky and lacking by compare to FS , at 28 Euro pretty steep .

Its only a Beta release. They are using the community to iron out the bugs. This is becoming a commen theme among some developers. Take a look through youtube, there a a lot of beta version video's already. This sim is very mission based. it will apeal to some but not all.

It may be able to be run with A3 in the future with a mod which is quite cool to have A3 aircraft with TKOH FM. The missions look similar to some of the FSX mission from the screenshots although the graphics detail on the ground must be quite good as A2 has alot of detail on the ground.

Ok, I've paid for it, now just downloading all 17GB of it!

Not so bad as TelstraClear have cached the entire Steam library, so it doesn't use my cap

The worst part about Steam is now not a problem anymore biggrin.gif

i have this myself and found the 13gig download well worth it so far although i would liked to see more helicopter makes and models .
so far i have been on this nonstop since release and love the way it offers a preflight check and guides you gently through the new look and layout of the game

Havnt bought it yet. Probably will. I think the mission based sim gives it purpose. Given that most smaller helis have basic avionics, for the most part in FSX, all you do in them is blast around in them and because of there speed limitations you dont tend to go very far which all in all limits the amount of enjoyment you get from helis in FSX. I am not saying that helis are boring. On the contrary, i think Take on Helis will bring on a whole new dimension to heli simming.

Can anyone tell me what the flight dynamics are like and how the sim performs on your systems?

so far i am running this on both a core i5 windows 7 laptop with a 512mb ati graphics and 4 gig of ram and a dual core desktop with a 1 gig ati card and 4 gig ram windows vista . the flight handling is a but touchy but i have found that dumbing the games mode down to beginer or trainee helps i also had to tweak the graphics a wee bit as was getting minor lag in beta version but am now running on high settings and have no problems so far

Yeah, so problem is that you're not guaranteed to get downloads coming FROM their Steam server, which is pretty stupid....So far, I've had only one big d/l out of 3 or 4 apparently NOT make a dent in my cap...I'm already in the red on my cap this month and I've still got two weeks left till the next lot!!!
