DCS WWII: Europe 1944[edit]
Currently in development by Eagle Dynamics, DCS WWII: Europe 1944 aims to satisfy seasoned aces as well as attract new pilots to the WWII simulator genre. DCS WWII will include in-depth manuals and training tutorials, detailed six-degrees-of-freedom cockpits with detailed modeling of each button and system, detailed terrain of iconic Western Front locations, a single-player experience recreating famous battles from both sides, and online multiplayer. Flyable aircraft are to include multiple variants of the Messerschmitt Bf.109, the Republic P-47 Thunderbolt,[2] and Supermarine Spitfire Mk. IX, all to be released periodically from August 2014 to late 2016.[2][11][21] Other aircraft to be released at a later stage include the Boeing B-17 Flying Fortress and Messerschmitt Me 262A-1[citation needed].

Thanks for the info Ian.I would like to see anything released from this WWII era .Love the Mustang and the other two German types. The B-17 would be awesome for online play I imagine but offline maybe a waste but who knows what people get up to.The AI version will be fine if they release one.The big bombers are a huge amount of work they in modding world say.So a lot of patience is required.Maybe 2025 well see one in DCS.Thats probably optomistic

There has been some great B-17 combat sims in the past, Mircoprose Mighty Eight was Brilliant , you got around the crew fixing their wound and shooting and flying all in one , love to see that on today's PC, it was brilliant :)

Just got the word via the DCS E-Shop.
The Mk IX Spitfire is available for preorder at $39 United States Dollars. Which is $53.48 New Zealand Dolllars(always seems to be more when you purchase for some reason or other)

This cheaper price is available until the 16th of December which is the release date for the Mk IX

Pleased you posted it as a MKIX .. without the LF , all LF's were clipped winged aircraft , as DCS advertise them as.

I looked at that and thought the same thing. LF models were all clipped winged. SithSpawn over on the DCS forums said that their may be an option for clipped wings. Hope so any way.Two types for the price of one. I think the clipped wing version may have a better chance against the Bf 109K-4 if it has a good rate of role and maybe a tighter turn. :uk:

You would find the Spitfire was doing well against the ME109 G and K generally the same and in performance compared to the FW190 D .

There is an update out for the Nevada Map by ED. :groupwave:
Many airfields and its all free.
Plus other improvements, like new stuff :D
As you might expect the download is hefty

Quote from ED's email this morning

"Today we will be releasing the next update to DCS World 2.0, version 2.0.4. The primary addition to this update is the inclusion of the Extension Pack for the DCS: NEVADA Test and Training Range map. This extension includes 13 new airfields and several new cities and towns. One of the new airfields is Tonopah Test and Training Range airfield, that was home to the “Red Eagles” flying Russian-developed aircraft and the F-117A “Stealth Fighter” wing. This is a FREE extension pack to owners of the Nevada map. Enjoy!"

Postby Dinga » Thu Dec 29, 2016 7:33 pm

Guys do any of you have any source for Al Deere's Spitfire markings. So I can request a skin over at ED forums.I know of only one that is on the MkIX based at Biggin Hill. The one on ZK-SPI.

Lots of photos on http://www.jetphotos.net/showphotos.php ... rch=ZK-SPI :pics:

Would any of you be able to support my post maybe >nzflag<
