OK I've fallen in love with this airplane. X-Plane 10 has been sitting on my PC for a while and I've been waiting for just such an addon to make me spend more time in it. I love PMDGs 737NG, but have fond childhood memories of flying on Aer Lingus 737-200s between Heathrow and Dublin when I lived in that part of the world.

All I can say is WOW! The soundset is fantastic and the graphics, finally really great for X-Plane! It handles lovely and i'm really enjoying the old steam guages and having NO FMC! Yes, no FMC, you pull out your charts and navigate from VOR to VOR, great fun! I'm very impressed with the both the internal and external night lighting, strobe effects are fantastic.

So really guys I cannot recommend this addon enough and for some of you it might make you want to make the move to X-Plane. It rocks framerates and looks lovely. NZ is a bit lacking in scenery and detailed airports, but there are some great packages available foe the rest of the world.

Yeah it really is great fun. I open Skyvector charts on the tablet and get all the frequencies and courses noted down and then work through them during the flight. Sometimes have to use the old ADFs too. Really keeps you busy during the flight rather then just watching the purple line. VOR/DME approaches in poor vis are great, I really like X-Plane's weather engine, gives you a lot more interesting surprises.

The autopilot on the -200 is also a whole different way of thinking to the modern systems. Its so basic and really just does only the bare minimum so therefore keeps you on your toes. Forget about Autoland! This kind of a bird really makes you want to disconnect at 10,000 and handy the whole way down, trims really nice and again with X-Planes superb physics model it feels very rewarding to fly.

I think as it gets developed further it will mature into an even more realistic product, but its great to see these kind of developers giving X-Plane the attention it deserves.

I still have X-Plane installed but have not set it up, the amount of packages (freeware) is snowballing, I have seen this twenty years back and others fizzled ... due to MS walking away from FS a return to the other possibles hooking into it.

One thing I do like is using maps , again even if they are out date (1995-98) when I created then they are still valid in FSX .... to get you point to point .
