you can't upload photos onto the forum itself, so you'll have to upload them to a upload to a website like www.photobucket.com, then add the photos with the [IMG] tags.

Hi Kiwiusa

This is a limitation in FS2004. There is a simple fix: buy the 20m mesh :)

As the mesh resolution gets better, the rivers will fit much better into the terrain (it's quite logical really when you think about it). The effect is still slightly there, but barely noticable.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,
Christian

Hmm, I have to admit I never really ran the 75m mesh (well, not for very long anyway - why would I :P ?).

However, judging from those screenshots, I'm wondering if the 75m mesh is properly installed on your system. How do the NZ Alps look like on your system? Do you get a very significant increase over the default?

Hi Christian
Now we are cooking with gas B)
It was the 75mesh . I reinstalled it and here are the results.

Now I have to figure out how to stop Deane's Marlb1 Blenheim airport from sinking in the mesh. It is a very good depiction of the airport as we flew home from the states last month for a holiday .It needs a little tweaking and it would fit in well with the Topo scenery.

Thanks for the help I appreciate the hard work that you guys do

Can't really see what's wrong with it in the screenshot. It's probably something that Dean would have to fix anyway...

Hi Kkiwiusa. I too had the same problem with Deane's Woodbourne scenery, aircraft dissapearing below the apron as you got in front of the terminal etc. The scenery was originally designed for FS-2000. I solved the problem myself, by creating a flatten switch, and placing it after the last line of that sceneries entry in the scenery.cfg file. I too am using the 75m Mesh. This is my flatten that works perfectly...............

Flatten.1=109,S41 30.07,E173 53.12,S41 31.86,E173 53.10,S41 31.80,E173 49.96,S41 29.75,E173 49.99

Hope this helps you out,

Lawrie.

I need to get a flatten switch for Omaka as well

There is a nifty little utility called FlattEx, which makes this quite easy. ;)

Hi Tracy. Happy to hear the flatten switch i made worked for you.
I also had to make a flatten switch fo Omaka, it is as follows............

Flatten.2=100,S41 31.77,E173 55.89,S41 32.80,E173 55.89,S41 32.89,E173 54.14,S41 31.70,E173 54.14

Place it below the flatten for Woodbourne in the scenery.cfg file. Save , and away you go. Obviously you know what to do, because the NZWB one worked for you. Glad to have been of help to you.

Hi Charl,.......... I used to use Flattex, but it didnt allways give me the exact result that i wanted. So i went back to time honoured old fashioned way of doing it in look down-slew mode. Gets it EXACTLY as i want it.

Lawrie.

Hi again Tracy. I forgot to ask you, post a pic of how Omaka looks when you have installed the switch. Be interested to see. I also had to make a custom AFCAD2 for NZWB, so that AI aircraft would taxi in the right places, and park in the right places. Tried a few AFCADS that i found at various sites, but were never happy with them, so made my own.

Cheers

Lawrie.

I downloaded Flattex and am getting ues to using the program but appreciate your help . Would be great to get a copy of your afcad .Originally from Blenheim so is great to be able to fly round the town when i miss it.
Is there a program for placing aircraft as would like to have a go placing the Safe Bristol at Omaka and the Argosy outside the airport??

Hi again Tracy. Happy that the Omaka flatten worked for you. Only too happy to share anything, or pass on any small bit of knowledge i may have to help someone else. If you have a free e-mail addy (like Hotmail etc), let me know here, and i will mail the AFCAD2 i made for NZWB to you. As for placing the static aircraft, there are a number of programs that are good for that, but i'm not sure which would be the best. Try a post in the "SCENERY" forum and ask there. I would definately be interested in the end result of that. Might be a scenery add-on worth posting on AVSIM, so some of the rest of us could make use of it.

Lawrie.
