Hi there,

I am a owner of Traffic X and Real NZ Tauranga and Rotorua, Now Recently I have been trying to figure out how to get the AI to park at the parking gates outside the termianl where they should be parking as real life does but they seem to park all over the place around the airport. I turned Traffic X Afcad off so they only park at the default FSX parking spots but still no luck.

Any Ideas??

Cheers

With Real NZ airports, the AFCAD normally defines some of the visible facilities, such as the tarmac and taxiways, which are designed to blend with the photoreal ground textures. For this reason, swapping the supplied AFCAD for anything else will stuff up the appearance -- and probably the elevation -- of the airport.

The AFCAD for Tauranga is designed for a good mix of parking -- in part, it was made to allow reasonably lifelike parking for the GA aircraft which live there -- but you could adapt it for your own needs. For instance, if you didn't use GA AI, then you could remove most of the parking. However any adapted AFCAD must be based on the supplied Real NZ AFCAD, otherwise it won't match the photoreal airport.

Thanks for the reply, Yea what do you suggest I just want the Link planes to park at the real parking areas that are outside the terminal. Anyway to make certain aircraft types park here and there or is this in Traffic X. I just really want the link planes to park where they should not halfway down the grass if you know what I mean. I know i edited the wing span in Traffic X so I don't see 747 at domestic gates in auckland but I don't think it sorts this issue out?
However I remember when I had WOAI the Q300 parked at the proper gates?
Any idea how to get this how I want??

Cheers Rob

Most AFCAD-style tools allow you to choose what parks where, based on the airline code. For instance, Airport Design Editor allows you to add airline codes either by typing in the code (e.g. ANZX) or by choosing the airline from a dropdown list.
For this to work, however, the Aircraft.cfg must have an airline code. By fine-tuning the codes, you can pretty much make any aircraft park exactly where you want.
