Missing Paraparaumu Autogen

Howdy Robin,

For some unknown reason I seem to have no autogen (neither buildings nor vegetation) being generated in this area. The photoreal landscape is displaying properly.

Is this location still under construction? (I think I heard mention that NZPP was to be a freeware project sometime in the near future.)

Or am I expereincing some FS-generated anomoly?

Enquiring minds would really like to know. TIA.
Regards,
Dorian

It is all autogenned, so I suspect that there may be an exclude at work here.
The only thing I can think of is the old Kapiti Island scenery, which was a remesh of the whole island -- do you have this installed?

Nope. But I do have Norm Shieffelbien's beta version of NZ Coast Line Waves. I'll try turning that off and let you know.

EDIT: Thanks. Problem sorted out now. The guilty party was ... Francisco Vargas's NZ 1 Soaring Thermal Pack. Appears the Wellington.bgl (centered on NZPP) wipes out ALL autogen for a radius of 9nm!

So, it looks like no gliding out of Para. Bugger!

What's your experience with the clouds when using the gliding scenery.
I seem to remember it replaced textures with 2D?

Howdy Charl,

Yeah, that was a real downer. <_<

Best NZ thermals ever were those produced by the Cross-Country Soaring crowd and released to coincide with this year's International Championships down Omarama way. Now they were gnarley (1 hour 55 min. aloft).

EDIT: For anyone interested in trying some Southern Alps Gliding, go to: http://www.virtualsoaring.org/flight/ev ... ps-nz.html

In order to use this, you will also need to download the latest version of Cross-Country Soaring available from: http://x-c.home.att.net/
