Installed the above for FS9 but only Omaka and WoodbourneAF appear in Sim. No sign of Picton or Marlborough. Any suggestions as to what
might have happened. I suppose an uninstall/install will be the only answer.?

Did you activate the 'RealNZmarl' folder within the Scenery Library?
Provided the new folder is activated after install, you will be able to find the airports within FS2004. What do you mean exactly -- does the scenery not appear, or does 'NZPN' not appear in the airport list?

Yes. Very strange I activated RealNZMarl and Omaka and Woodbourne appear but no Picton or Marlborough. NZPN does not appear in the airport list.

There is no 'Marlborough' airport, but there should be Picton NZPN. NZWB and NZOM are included in FS2004, so their appearance in the Airport List doesn't necessarily mean that the Real NZ scenery is installed and activated.
When the Real NZ Marlborough installer runs, it obtains the location of the FS2004 install from the System Registry. IN THIS LOCATION, it creates a folder called 'RealNZmarl', and puts the scenery in there. It also IN THIS LOCATION places AFCAD files in Addon Scenery\Scenery.
There are a couple of things which can go wrong with this.
First, it may be that the System Registry entry doesn't point to the actual install of FS2004. This can happen if you move your FS2004 install after installing it. You should never do this, if you want your FS2004 installation somewhere else, you should uninstall/reinstall.
Secondly, your Addon Scenery folder may not be activated. You'll know if you have deactivated it for any reason, it won't deactivate itself.

I knew there was no Marlborough airport as I have had this previously installed on another PC. The "RealNZMarlborough" is installed but WNPN does not show up in the airport list. When I open the RealNZMarlborough Directory there is a Picton.bgl, PictonFl.bgl and Koromoko Airport.bgl etc., and that is what has me stumped. Why would NZWB and NZOM appear in the airport list and come up in the Sim but NZPN doesn't.? It looks as though the the System Registry has put it in the correct place.

NZWB & NZOM will show up with or without Real NZ. NZPN is NOT a default FS2004 airport, so it won't show up if Real NZ (or some other Picton addon) is installed.

The file which controls whether NZPN appears in the FS2004 Airport list is the AFCAD file in Addon Scenery\Scenery. Are you sure Addon Scenery is activated?

If you shift your FS9 or your FSX to another HDD or to another partition there is a small 36KB file FS_Registry_repaire.exe that you can get and it will direct the registry to you FS9 or FSX
I can't remember where I got it from now but if anyone wants it I can email a copy of it to you or if you are in Blenheim and want to come and put it on a floppy you are most welcome

The 'AFCAD' files for these airports are placed in Addon Scenery\Scenery. The airports themselves are in RealNZmarl\Scenery. So just because you can see the new airports doesn't mean that Addon Scenery is activated. However both Omaka and Woodbourne will not work well without the AFCADs in Addon Scenery.

The NIS installer is self-checking, so it is not possible for it to do a faulty install, provided your FS installation is full, correct and undamaged. If the installer is damaged or otherwise incomplete, it will fail the initial verification and abort.

However it does rely on a few things already being present in your sim -- mainly the System Registry, which appears to be ok for you, and an activated Addon Scenery folder.

There are other things which can go wrong, such as existing scenery files being locked if you try to install with the sim running, or a read-only file which it is unable to replace. However this shouldn't affect Picton, if there was already an existing AFCAD file then it would appear anyway.

I have now uninstalled and reinstalled RealNZMarlborough and still no NZPN but again NZOM and NZWB appear to be ok. Anywhere else
I can look to rectify this problem.? What annoys me is that I have it all working on an older and much less spec' PC alongside me!!.

Installed from the CD installer. D:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Flight Simulator 9 (Where I have successfully installed RealNZWgtn and RealNZRotorua, Tauranga etc)
I am looking for Picton under "Pauanui Beach" in the list of airports where it appears on my other PC. If I want to fly from Picton where else should I look for it please.?
Am I missing something here.?

I assume you have filtered the airport list to NZ only -- are there any other filters active?
Do you have a file in:

called AF2_NZPN.bgl?
What happens if you type 'NZPN' into the airport search box?

I don't know about other filters. Yes. There is AF2_NZPN.bgl in that Directory. If I type NZPN in the search box it just brings up which ever
airport happens to be highlighted in the list of airports.
It is probably not relevant and I don't want to confuse things but on my other installation, Picton appears and when clicked it brings up
in State/Provinces "There are 2 States/provinces, Click here and I get Marlborough Sounds and Southland (Balclutha, Centre Bush, Ryans Creek and Mandeville)
Don't spend any more time on it. I can live without Picton. I will probably concentrate on FSX now.

NZ airports normally don't have provinces included in the AFCAD, so filtering on Province is not recommended. (Some do, though, and if you select one that does, you may need to clear the Province filter before searching for another airport.)

What Filter are you talking about.? Can you explain what I should be doing to sight Picton then please.?

It may not make any difference here, but I'm talking about the Go to Airport selection screen -- under the list of airports, there is a section with the heading 'Filter search result by'. When you select NZ as the Country, you should NEVER select a State/Province, as most NZ airports don't have them.

So before searching for an airport by Airport ID it pays to press the 'Clear Filter' button.

I tried that and it didn't make any differenct. I thought if I installed RealNZMarlborough I would be able to go to NZ and list of Airports and see Picton but apparently that is not the case
so I wonder how one finds Picton in this program.? I really only bought this disc because of Picton and the Marlborough Sounds.

Does Picton show up on the FS2004 map?

(You should be able to choose Picton from the list of airports. If you can't, I'd like to figure out why not.)
