Hi Robin

I recently reinstalled my machine, and FS2004, and am slowly adding back all my sceneries. On taking off from Rotorua RW 18, I noticed this:

This is pretty much few yards from the end of the runway. I cannot remember having this 'valley' previously. I have updated my FS9.cfg with the correct (I think) [terrain] settings as follows

TERRAIN_MAX_VERTEX_LEVEL=21

I am using the Red Baron's 75m mesh, landclass, and NZ Topo. all are at lower priority (higher number) than the scenery itself.

Any ideas? - this is not a big issue, but if there is a quick fix that will be great.

Appreciate your help

Ran

I've never seen that before (looks like you're taking off 36 as well ;) ), but maybe change the VERTEX level to 20 or 19? :unsure:

I think that's because the lake level is not correct. When you install the 75 metre mesh, the land surrounding the lake goes to the proper elevation, so you notice the incorrect lake level.
At the moment you really need Red Baron Topo to fix this. I have promised a basic flatten for the lake -- maybe when Marlborough is released I'll look at it.

Thanks for quick replies

I am taking off on 36 :o - and I do have the NZ Topo installed. I will try changing the NZ Topo scenery priority or the Vertex level and see what's happening...

juggled few things around, but to no avail. this is what it looks like from the other side...

Topo may not be fully installed. I don't think there's much that can go wrong with scenery priority, and wrong vertex level settings have a much smaller effect - they never affect large areas.

Rob is correct. I had a similar problem some time ago with the very same thing.

Thanks guys - I uninstalled NZ TOPO and reinstalled, and the world is flat again - well, from my perspective anyway... :)

Beautiful! - Ran
