The Windowlight.co.nz site will be offline for a couple of days

Just a heads-up that I plan to shift the site to a new host, and make some changes while it's down. This may happen on Wednesday, but I'll let you know the day before.
Note that once the site is moved, you will no longer be able to purchase a Subscription, although there will be further releases to subscribers at some point.

Main changes include:
  • Product sales will be via the main site, using Wordpress/Woocommerce, but the old Store will remain to allow customers to redownload existing purchases;
  • Paypal will now be the preferred payment method, and I've already removed the Paymate Payment Gateway, which wasn't coping with modern security requirements;
  • Subscribers will still have access to the existing and future Subscription downloads;
  • The site will remain fairly low-key until the next major Real NZ scenery release, in a few months.

Although Subscription sales had all but ceased in 2015, since I announced that I'd stop selling it sales have been steady for the last week, so here's just a notice that once the old site goes offline -- as I said, perhaps Wednesday -- that'll be the end of Subscription sales. There won't be another Subscription, due to the lack of sales, but I will have one more attempt at completing a full Real NZ project.

I'll keep everyone informed of progress during the upgrade via the Godzone Facebook page.

Just a bit of extra info for forum members --

Well, I've really learnt a lot over the last few days, it's a pity I'll just forget it all before I need to shift another website...

My todo list is 90% complete! You can now login to the Subscription site, and download scenery. You can even buy Real NZ Nelson again, I think, through the new Woocommerce store!

Everything else needs to be re-uploaded. Funny thing, you know when you put something in a 'safe' place, and then forget where you put it? Turns out I didn't have archives of any of my older Store scenery on my drive, I really have no idea where I put it -- DVDs? in the Cloud? It'll turn up one day, I suppose.
In the end I had to try and remember how to access my old site without using the windowlight.co.nz domain, which I've shifted, and grab it all from there. I admit I was panicking a bit for an hour or two... Would be a bit silly if it turns out that my only copy of much of my scenery was on my store site... definitely time for a major backup strategy.

I'm actually quite pleased with the way the shift went, the first day was a total disaster, but luckily I still had options. The secret is to get the job finished before you run out of options

Feel free to visit the site if you are a subscriber -- I won't be able to relax until a few people have visited without problems.

I won't be promoting much until I get the multi-installers completed, which will be another major job. That's why I did the site shift now, while things are very low-key.
