I am having trouble installing the FSX version into Scenery. My OS is win7. I can navigate to RealNZwgtn but when I press Add Area button, select the Folder, and press OK, nothing happens.
I tried the suggestions in the 'readme' but to no avail. Whet might be the problem please?.

Might have been an invalid scenery path. It must show as Realnzwgtn with the box checked beside it on the Scenery Library

I had the same issue , create a folder called RealNZWellington and direct the install to that folder, then add scenery and activate it in FSX.

I previously made a Folder FSXAddon with a sub Folder Scenery. The files have been extracted to C:\FSXAddon\Scenery\realnzwgtn.

OK , from there start your FSX , goto add scenery then click onto that specific file, click anywhere within the dialogue/interface box away you go , click OK and it may not show, a FSX problem that was never fixed.

I think that once you install RealNZ Wellington, it shows up in the FSX root folder, Leave it there then it must work properly

I installed RealNZ Wellington to the root folder, I left it like how it is, Then I started FSX then went to the Scenery Library and then clicked on the Realnzwgtn folder then clicked on add area then it shows up in the Scenery Library then clicked ok. I had no problems when I installed my RealNZ Wellington.

That is what I have been doing and it doesn't work. A bit disappointing as I would have liked this one. I have a copy that I purchased for FS9 some years ago and had no problems installing it, so I don't know
why this FSX download isn't working. Thanks for trying to help.

I will give it a go that way and perhaps it will work. Thanks.

It sounds like the Windows 7/8 bug -- see this post here for details.

When I select the RealNZwgtn as in post #4 the scenery folder does not open. Perhaps I have done something wrong but I cannot figure out what at this stage.

I don't quite understand what you've done here -- did you follow the instructions in the manual? What do you mean by 'extracted' -- is this just the files from the downloaded ZIP file? These are not the scenery, they are just the manual and installer. You need to read the manual, and run the installer. Once that is done, you should have a RealNZwgtn folder within your FSX installation folder. That's the one you activate.

I don't quite understand what I have done either. I will re-read the manual. I appreciate your assistance. Thanks.

A couple of people have pointed out that the manual included with the freeware download is actually from the disc version -- which comes with a big button which says 'install' -- so it can be a bit confusing.
There's no need to extract the files from the installer, just open the manual, and then run the WgtnFSXSetup.exe installer, and follow the prompts.
