After making Prepar3D my main simulator, I installed all the ORBX/FTX sceneries I own. I would now like to try the previously bought RealNZ szeneries (Supercity etc.) in conjunction with these. I realized there are (beta) patches around in this forum but did not find final versions on the storefront. Are these available someplace there (or elsewhere) or will I have to downloand the complete sceneries again?

(BTW, just count me as a potential customer for upcoming Wellington for FTX.)

Thanks and all the best
Michael

Robin, thanks for the quick reply. Unfortunately the link is dead at least for me (server not found, while the storefront ifself does work). Could you cross-check?

Kind regards, Michael

Works now, seems to have been a temporary glitch. Thank you for your continued support.

(As a side note, I've been in Christchurch for two days within a holiday stay in NZ during February and was really shocked to see the state of your home town. All my best wishes you will be able to rebuild it to the gem it must have been.)

Kind regards, Michael

Hi Robin

Nearly there with my reinstall but haven't got far with my Realnz scenery. Have the freeware Timaru and Hokitika installed (and looking great I must say...nice flight between the two!) - are there any other freeware Godzone scenery that is FTX compatible?

I have RealNZ Nelson, Tauranga /Rotorua and Wanaka/Tekapo (and Wellington & Marlborough (no chance of Marlborough FTX patch?). IIRC Nelson, Tauranga and Wanaka are the RealNZ payware scenery that is FTX compatible (that's correct isn't it?). Only issue is that I can find the latest disc for Tauranga and I cant access your compatibility patch site at Windowlight. Anyway of getting the latest Tauranga disc and accessing the patch page?

Hi Paul here it is

Open ORBX\FTX_NZ\FTX_NZSI_05_SCENERY\scenery in Windows Explorer. Find all the Omaka - Woodbourne and Picton specific files by typing NZOM - NZWB and NZPN for each one into the search box.

Omaka turn the following from .bgl to .off
ADE_FTX_NZSI_NZOM_objects.off
ADE_FTX_NZSI_NZOM_CVX.off

Woodbourne turn the following from .bgl to .off
ADE_FTX_NZSI_NZWB_CVX.off
ADE_FTX_NZSI_NZWB_objects.off

Picton turn the following from .bgl to .off
ADE_FTX_NZSI_NZPN_CVX.off
ADE_FTX_NZSI_NZPN.off
ADE_FTX_NZSI_NZPN_objects.off
FBP_FTX_NZSI_NZPN.off

Then go to the World Scenery and change the following from .BGL to .BAK
ADE_FTX_NZSI_NZOM_elevation_adjustment.BAK
ADE_FTX_NZSI_NZPN_elevation_adjustment.BAK
ADE_FTX_NZSI_NZWB_elevation_adjustment.BAK

Paul, I'd really like to get to the bottom of the problem accessing my site. Which browser do you use? Which ISP? Do you use the Google Toolbar? Some people have been having trouble with this, for some reason.

Doug's info can really be applied to any Orbx conflict, just search for relevant files for any airport code within the Orbx folder, and the same in Scenery\World\Scenery.
This makes most airports usable, but sometimes the difference between Orbx and default/VLC elevations will cause cliffs/trenches. And of course autogen may suffer from the broken roof issue.

Thanks Doug

Robin, Im using IE 10, Xtra as ISP and the Google Tool bar. I switched to Chrome and accesed no problem. Have most of your airports now installed. How compatible is Kaikoura, Paraparaumu and Ashburton in FTX ?

..and are there any plans getting Rotorua FTX compatible now that Orbx appears to have dropped Rotorua

Got Tauranga installed last night plus the FTX patch but getting black textures on some industrial buildings and the apron out in front of the main terminal. Also the photo ground coverage remains even though I didn't select for it to remain in the patch install. Any clues on a fix? Maybe the patch hasn't installed properly?

I might need to look at the install code, although that won't be until tomorrow. In the meantime:
Did you have the final version 2 of Tauranga installed? I assume you did, but I have to ask. The patch won't update version 1, and it won't update any beta versions of 2.

Regarding your compatibility questions:
Kaikoura and Papaparaumu will both work using the same method outlined by Doug. Just rename any FTX NZKI and NZPP files to deactivate them. Ashburton should work the same, but I'm aware that the FTX elevation is a long way out there, creating a conflict at the edge of the Godzone flattens. I haven't yet installed NZSI on my new system, but I will do this next week just to be able to have a play with this.

I'd love to redo Rotorua, but any future projects depend first on being able to get nice aerial images. Without them, it's jut not going to happen. Aerials are still the limiting factor in NZ, and I suspect that there's a bit of a 'charge full-price' mentality around Rotorua, not that I blame them. (The existing Real NZ Rotorua aerial is very low quality even compared to other low-res LINZ images.)

Wellington does this better -- they charge for most resources, but all the required data is cheap enough to be able to recoup it. We are talking hundreds of dollars compared to tens of thousands.

The Google Toolbar issue is driving me balmy! I'm glad you managed to access the Store.

OK thanks -yep wrong NZTG installed. Found right disc in loft and now corrected. Still wouldn't disable aerial photo so did it manually. Thanks for the info on Rotovegas. Will try Doug's suggestion on the others.

Hey robin just read this part of the forum with regards to Rotorua, if aerial shots are needed i could possibly take some for you i could hire a 172 or something (time and finances permitting) and get some shots from o/head, i can also possibly get any airside photos you might need.

Sorry, almost missed this.
Cheers, GB, but really to update this I'd need some aerial images to replace the old LINZ aerials, which cover the lake and beyond. That's actually the weak link with this scenery, modelling the airport itself wouldn't be a problem -- I normally just spend a day or two at the airport. Aerials are a different matter, getting anything I can afford is always the main problem.
