NZFF

From 1st November I no longer have FS2004 scenery for sale in the Godzone Store. I'll continue to support existing users, but it's time to move on.
Once I have some time, I'll upload this to a freeware site.

End of an era is all I can say.

Whilst it is a shame, I do understand. Good to see that existing customers will still receive support. Thanks, Robin.

Life moves on.....strange, i just reloaded FS9 as i miss a lot of my aircraft. It was a good era Rob....thanks.

I also just reloaded FS9 as FSX plays ok on my PC at first but the scenery all washes out after a while especially when you spend a few hours above the clouds and needs refreshing which spoils the action I'll be looking to get some of the missing sceneries from your site when uploaded

SO what's become of the FS9 sceneries?
Every so often someone asks, I say RealNZ, but then draw a blank!

EDIT: Well... not a complete blank.
But I don't see:
Rotorua
Tauranga
Paraparaumu
Wanaka airshow edition

A lot of Lawrie's FS9 airports were recovered from somewhere, and appeared on flightsim a few months back. I haven't downloaded them yet.
My Classic install took about three years to build, and while I have a lot of the original download zips backed up, there have been improved versions since then, so I am really having to do the whole thing over again.

Unfortunate Mike .. but as Lawrie said ... and i mentioned years back .. those small files would have been safer on another site .

I still use many of my fantastic FS 2002/FS 2004 scenery and aircraft, etc, in my FSX, with a little modification now and again, if/as required!
All of my favourite aircraft are still FS 2002/FS 2004 models!
...and most of my favourite scenery is in the various FS 2004 libraries!

I hope I never get see the end of good-old, trusty, FS 2004!

It has served me very well for a number of years...and still does!

In my case, I had reorganised my VF/GM UK VFR scenery into an All-in-one folder, instead of a dozen or so separate volumes...I'll let it run for a while says I, and when it is all good, I will backup the new setup and remove the other files.
And of course, if I had put my last viable backup CD away, instead of leaving it on the chair, I would not have been able to hide it under the newspaper I put on the chair so it wouldn't get dirty when I stood on it to change a light bulb which had just failed...

All the great NZ sceneries of that era are still going strong on my PC... in fact, there are some which have no FSX equivalent to this day.

As well as my main FS2004 install, I also have builds based on Golden Wings and Silver Wings, the latter of which now has most of the world in 1950s-60s form (and Auckland Whenuapai International Airport from 1961!).

At the moment it's an absolute certainty that my three FS2004 installs will outlive FSX, which will be gone as soon as I'm able to fully migrate to P3D.

When BigBeast (XP3) was the flying machine, I had three FS9.1s installed, and thanks to a huge collection of freeware landclass, meshes and coastlines, I could use VFR pilotage to navigate from the UK to Oz, or all over Europe, from FL210 in a Connie or DC-7C, or 8000' to 12,000 in lesser, non-presurised machines....Australia? - bear left at the Pamir Knot; that's my kind of navigation

Sad to say, Win7 does not seem to take kindly to multiple installs on the same drive, even though each has its own language.dll; I kept seeing things which were specific to a different FS9.cfg from the one I was flying in.
On the current flying machine (SuperBeast, Win7) FSX is in C:\FS10 and FS Classic is on its own drive, at G:\Classic FS. That will do for now.

I have Rotorua, Tauranga, and Paraparumu backed up - in fact, I've now got all of the RealNZ sceneries backed up EXCEPT the RealNZ edition of Wanaka/Tekapo - which differs (if I'm recalling right from the promotional literature) from the older Godzone versions in that they come with cleaner photoscenery and custom airport objects - I believe the RealNZ Wanaka had an airshow scenery option as well, much like the newer Southern Lake Adventures pack does - where the only free Wanaka I can find is photoscenery only with a Godzone advert banner...

Hi Lawrie,

Yours are almost all covered now. I only have NZHA Hawera, NZNE North Shore, NZSW Swannanoa plus the (sea) port of Napier remaining on my FS2004-only list. I seem to remeber Deane B has Hawera in development.

Of course if you plan to do some more FSX equivalents of Goff's FS2004 airports there are quite a few still on his list: Rangitaiki, Taharoa, Cromwell, Cromwell Racecourse, Pudding Hill, Quintin, Roxburgh and Kowhai.

Thanks Alister. I only started getting into Golden Wings and Silver Wings a couple of years ago which just goes to show that even now, years after I moved to FSX as my main platform, good old FS2004 continues to surprise us. In my setup, Golden Wings represents 1903-1945, Silver Wings 1946-1970 plus a standard FS2004 for everything.

Golden Wings is a stunning achievement, and I've enhanced it even further with addon scenery although sadly there's nothing for NZ. Mangere Airfield exists with a couple of biplanes parked there, but it's not modelled at all.

Like Paul I'm a big fan of the CalClassic sceneries which are in continuous development. There must be hundreds of 1950s-60s airports from all over the world now. They fit perfectly into FS2004 with the Silver Wings textures added and the vintage AI traffic brings a whole extra dimension to it as well.

I think I feel a good screenshot thread coming on!

Looking at 2004 Christchurch - by compare today real airport it has almost gone back to the 1960s.

I never got Deane's NZHA Hawera scenery unfortunately, and i dont know where to find it nowadays.
As for your wish list of FSX airfields, Cromwell Racecourse and Roxburgh were on my "to-do" list for FSX anyway, and ive added Pudding Hill ( even made a start on it).
