Enhance Auckland City Performance

Here are some tips for those of you using REALNZ's Auckland City on slower computers. To maximise your FPS (Framerates- making your virtual world run smoother rather than jagged), try the following two things.

1)
Go to your FS9/Addon Scenery/AucklandCity/scenery folder (or where ever you have it installed) and find the file "fs2004westhaven.bgl".

Delete this file or rename it to another extension like "fs2004westhaven.remove" and you will get much greater performance over all of Auckland, especially when your aircraft is pointing anywhere near the CBD.

This is because this file is responsible for the West Haven Marina boats, and as there are a lot of them, they use up FPS and make your world "lag". Trust me, it makes a big difference!

2)
Move your AI traffic slider down, the more aircraft coming flying around the skies of Auckland with you, the more framerates you loose.

Any comments or additional tips can be posted here.

Also, if you have not already done so, then temporarily disable any anti-virus programs that you might have running.

Although they are working in the background, they can still use up a proportion of the CPU power, which can be better using running FS instead.
